stressed out bout upcomin' weddin'

hey peeps...i'm gettin' married in 8 days and everyone's askin' if i'm excited and stuff. truth is, i'm soooo stressed! i can't wait for the weddin' to be over coz plannin' a weddin' is soooooo stressful! coz in my culture, the weddin' is not just bout the bride and groom but it's bout the entire family! everyone's got their two cents to give and i have to listen like it or not. and we have such opposing views on things but a lot of the times i just have to nod and walk away coz i don't wanna be rude to the folks and my relatives.
but really...it's gettin' to a point where i'm tempted to just cancel the whole thin' just so i can have things done MY way. sounds mean i know but really..the stress is just too much. and i normally do well with stress relatin' to events coz i plan events and run them. one thin' i figured that i'm extra stressed coz i know on the day i can't do anythin' to fix any problems coz i'm the bride. and i'm not used to not bein' the one who fixes problems. job hazard...sighz.
just last week, i attended a relative's weddin' and everyone who was there was askin' me bout my weddin' and how excited i must be. i was so overwhelmed that i just started sobbin', right there at the reception hall. :(
anyone been through somethin' similar??

Well, I am a boy and this is a girl thing, so I have not gone through the same experience of sobbing at the reception of somebody else's wedding. But I can wish you good luck on your wedding.
During my wedding, my wife-to-be took care of everything, from the church to the food, from the venue to the give aways, from the biggest to the smallest details, as in everything. She says it is a once-in-a-lifetime occasion in her life and she wants to do it her way. No problem with me. Even her relatives did not stand up to her. They followed our own schedule. Accepted our list of entourage. Permitted our arrangements.
Right now, we have been happily married for one year and one month.

lol you're exactly like my fiance. we're havin separate receptions and well for his side...his folks are takin care of it. all he knows is that he has to rock up, with me! :p
i'm plannin' everythin' on my own but at the same time, i'm not coz everyone's got ideas and opinions and i can't say no to these people out of respect. but trust me if i could say no, i would have said no to many of them! hehe
another issue i'm havin' is that my parents are divorced, they dont get along well, and yeah...that's another headache for another story. :S
