Drinking water after execise is a must, as you will perspire during execise which causes loss of water from your body. However, it is not advisable to drink water immediately after execise. I'm not too sure how bad will it affect the health. After execise, the heart is still beating fast, and breathing fast, so immediately pouring water in may affect, I think.
It will be better if you can rest for a while, let the heartbeat and breathing back to normal, before drinking water.

usually i would take a 10-15 minutes rest after exercise before taking any water.. i am not sure drinking water immediately after exercise is bad for health, but my instructor recommends me to rest for a while before taking any drink..
