Does branded appliances do means they're more durable than less popular ones?

Hi everyone!
My family bought a washing machine 2 years ago. It wasn’t a known brand and not that expensive too. It was working fine, well not until 2 years ago. A problem started to appear but it’s not a major one that needed much attention.
The maid and I were discussing about it early this day and my sister and her husband interrupted. My sister said that 2 years ago when they were about to buy the said washing machine they suggested buying the Whirlpool brand. But because it is too expensive my father opted for the cheaper one though it wasn’t that popular. But to my sister, though it is expensive branded items/appliances are far much more durable than those less popular appliances.
After my sister said that, I started asking myself. Was she right with that idea? Can’t a non- popular brand of appliance or item be as durable as those branded ones? Do you think the same as my sister in buying appliances? What are you after for when buying appliances-the brand, price or quality?

I am somehow not very convinced with the regular branded products. I don't think that they are fool proof. I think the chances them getting damage are equal but they cost us more on repairing. That is why I do not trust the branded appliances also.

Yes I believe popular or not popular, appliances can be damaged. Including the repair expenses for a less popular brand, together with the price itself, it will still cost less than the popular ones. I still find it more practical buying the less popular.

Personally, I don't really think having a product with an expensive Brand name necessarily means it will long last. I've faced many situations where I've bought Branded products (original, not fake!) and they've gone *poof* very soon! I actually experimented once by buying the same product but with a different, start-up brand, and it was really good!
However, it is often that Branded products are more durable that cheap and duplicate ones. Another advantage is that almost all branded products provide servicing. That doesn't mean that the servicing can fix a problem if it arises and also it might not always be free. I guess it's simply luck in most of the cases!

Yeah, some less popular brands are actually good. The washing machine have bought for the house in our hometown is not from a popular brand. But it's still working perfectly great and it has been more than10 years since I bought it. Not so good looking anymore but the performance is still good!
I think all appliances has it's limit as to when it will lasts, branded or not. It also depends on how often it is used, the often the lesser life I think.

Hi! Usually branded products are imported ones. In my country we also have locally made products that are of good quality and I prefer buying them. I can't afford to waste money on too expensive products when there are cheaper ones that can performs the same.

Branded appliances are appliances which undergo thorough research. The manufacturers invest a lot on testing, research and many other stuffs which makes the appliances more dependable. There's a certain technology that is unique on every branded appliances that's why they also give names to these technologies. I think proper usage is also necessary for the longevity of your appliances.

A popular brand has come through with a long experiences and experimentals. It's surely we can trust a popular brand for the quality. People who don't understand this thing perhaps would say that the popular brand is expensive. But if you haven't try it yourself, you won't understand that the price is worth the quality and satisfaction. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

Yes no doubt branded products are expensive cause they are made from good parts/materials. Companies wouldn't sell them for a cheaper price cause the production costs expensive too.
I haven't bought an expensive appliance that I personally own. My stuffs are not from popular brands but they have performed well and last long. I would always settle for less expensive products.

i have a little common opinion with your sister.but not all.a famous brand has its long history.their pathes are more hardly.it can live for such long time, there must be their characters including quality,after-sales service.so they achieve peoples trust.or it must cant run a long way without customers'favor.but some brands do not like this, they are strong because of other sakes.finally, some unknow brand do not mean they havent a good quality.they are developing, will pay more attention on their products'quality and after-sales service to achieve new peoples favor

all things have its own durability and effectiveness on how they may be able to last long or not. i dont think a more popular brand could be a more durable appliance or things. but thats already been put in some of our minds that still upto now we all end up buying the ones that are expensive. well based on experience it surely last longer but still all the things could really easily be broken or damage if not properly used and take care of. with some extra care and love for our things that would surely last a lifetime.
