iPhones made a big hit when they were launched taking a huge fan base with them. With the professional looks to feature packed slim size. But wait here comes the next buzzmaker - The Nokia N97, Nokias new flagship product.
It boasts of features which have been unheard of before. With 32 GB memory and 16 GB expandable memory (total of 48 GB!, even beating ipod touch). A 3.5 inch real estate for viewing all those videos and photos. A 5 MP camera with 30 FPS high quality video recording, Flash video player, TV-out.
With the qwerty keypad added in, it looks more like a mini laptop. So what do you think about this smart phone. Will it make the same sensation when released this june 2009? Are the features up to the mark? And one more question: If you had the money, would you go for N97 or look for other models in the same category from manufacturers like samsung (omnia), blackberry's?

I do think the Sony Ericsson's Idou phone can be a potential iPhone killer. Featuring large touch screen as well as 12.1MP, the largest in the world for cell phone, this will satisfy people who wanted an integration between the cybershot and walkman in sony ericsson.
However, if Apple decides to lower its price for the iPhone, I doubt none will be able to compete with it.

Yes the Idou even has got the powerful xenon flash unlike poor LED ones. 12.1 MP is just too much. I would be happy with even a 3MP camera with good flash. Mega pixels do not count much these days. Resolution of 4000 X 3000 pixels is just not required unless I am viewing those pictures on very big screen LCD's. Well so here we have two contenders for the top spot:
Nokia 97
Sony Ericsson's Idou
I doubt whether the iphone's will make a comeback unless they improve the feature set. And the other reason is its limited availability in many countries.

In reality i am not interested if a phone is the iphone killer also because i am not interested in iphone in itself as device and so i always hope that other popular brands will create something of different and may be better than the iphone and its functionalities!!
Personally i think n97 is a good device from nokia but the symbian os for these devices of the last generation won't convict me much..and even the user interface s60 version mmh it did not impress me much so i am waiting for the new models..

Hello,
Personally I don't think it will kill the iPhone mainly because it lacks the applications. Their is a huge Apple community that creates apple applications, with every person trying to give their part in it. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

Nokia N97 is just a Nokia N95 with touchscreen and keyboard and nothing new really. Nokia recently fails to deliver what Samsung surprises us lately. Samsung has HD Video recording 12 Megapixel camera and Android phones. Not to mention Sony Ericsson has Idou and LG starts climbing to the ladder too. Symbian is obsolete, the future is Android.
