I join some of those paid - to - write sites, and I had posted some articles up there to earn some money; such as Helium, AC. Right now, I am having headache to find interesting topics to write about. I can't just write what I like per se, because people aren't the same, they have different interests. To earn better views I have to cater what other people. How do you find interesting topics to write about?

I feel free writing on mylot. But for formal articles to post on sites such as helium, I am a bit hesitating. I did write a couple there, but have difficulty to continue. It seems the more you write, and read, the less confident you are. The topics are no problem. We have things happening all the time around us. I believe we need to learn about the writing skills, which is missing for most greenhands.
You have issued a very good question, and I would read the responses to learn about how to write well.

If you want to get more page views you do need to write about topics people are always searching for online. Interest in current news and celebrity gossip obviously will not earn for long, but people will always want information on personal finance, jobs, technology and health. You can give advice and offer useful information on many different aspects of these subjects, from your own knowledge and by doing some research.

Hi Clorissa, writing is a passion. You have to write what you are interested in.
There are many titles in Helium to cater to people of different interests group.
I'm very interested in finance matter, making money, saving money, investing money, money and happiness etc.
I assume that there are many people who are intereted in what I am interested in. I can't write about cooking, since I hate cooking so much.
I think it is better to write for yourself, cater to yourself first. Treat yourself as the reader that you are addressing. Your article will attract more readers this way.

Hi there,
I think you better write something that you are well-versed or have sufficient information about. You can also write something that you love doing...it should come from the heart...Happy Writing!

Hello Clorissa,
I have noticed, when I blog that people love to read about the things that you have seen in life, for exsample the lady that almost hit a child while talking on her cell phone, or the old lady that was trying to cross th streeet with bags and their were several teenagers walking beside her, but none of them would lend her a helping hand. You have to really be creative when you writting, try using intresting words, for exsample instead of using the word a croup of people use a gang of people. I hope this helps some, and happy My Lotting!

write about something you are passionate about such as gardening or books that you are reading. i find if you write what you know about, then its not so hard. for me, its history! i am a history fanatic. oh, and crafts too!
read, listen to talk radio, watch tv, stuff like that.

I'm also a member of Helium, and I find that rating helps me to find topics to write on. You can spend hours going through titles and come up with nothing, yet as you are reading articles to rate, you can find an angle that you can write on or a point you agree or disagree with.
Be sure to write about what you know or are interested in, because that is where your best writing will come from. Don't try to write about something that doesn't float your boat, because if your not interested in the subject, you can't write interestingly about the subject.
I've just written an article about Swine Flu for a Helium contest, and that's generating a lot of interest and earning money within the first week, so I'd say try and write on topical subjects if you can, as long as you're interested enough in the topic. If your writing doesn't please you, it won't please others either. You have to be true to yourself before you can be true to your readers. Good luck!
