Stop Copying my Discussions!!

Yesterday I started a discussion titled "why can't I say thank you in my lot?" An hour later, somebody started the exact same discussion. Two hours later 3 people started the exact same discussion. I really thought that was very silly of these people to be dumb enough to copy somebody else's discussion. Now today is not the only day that this has happened. For the last two weeks I have observed certain individuals who simply copy other people's discussion and I think that is not fair as they get credit for somebody else's idea!
The whole point of starting a discussion is that you should be unique and original, or if your going to start a similar discussion at least have the courtesy to use your own words and not copy others. Thats Plagarism!
If you dont have anything to discuss simply respond to other people's discussions if you are that desperate for money. Its much better for you to spend the whole day responding to discussions than steal somebody else's discussion and credit is as your own as I think its not only unfair but it is stupid and shows that you have no imagination and all you want is to rob others of their hard work in coming up with an idea for a discussion.
This has happened to me about four times now and I say ... STOP COPYING MY DISCUSSIONS!!! Has this happened to you too? What do you think if somebody copies your exact discussion and gets credit for it?

Hi jellymonty!
As far as I know no-one has copied a discussion of mine (yet). I am aware of other discussions that are being copied and indeed I did report the copy of your yesterday. I also responded on it and posted the link to your hoping that others would report it and that the OP would not do the same thing again.
I fear that is not the case
Please accept my FR and forward the links to the others and I will help you in the reporting.
Whenever I come across anything in violation of the rules I report. It is what we are asked to do in the Guidelines and it is for the benefit of all that those who are cheating are stopped from doing so. MyLot must be ketp clean so that it does not end up like other sites that failed to stop anyone trying to cheat!

Well I'll find them without the links then so there!
Oh you shouldn't have bothered saying 'thank you' because I would have known that you would have wanted to say 'thank you' even if you hadn't said 'thank you' at all.
You can remember that for next time too!
(assuming you will ever speak to me again )

So far my discussions have not been copied but ideas yes. I noticed that once when I posted a discussion and a few days later someone posted the same topic but worded differently. I didn't bother as it was not the same words used. Of course it is unfair when someone copy your discussion and get credit for it. It is cheating and should be reported to the admin.

There is nothing worse than plagiarism especially when one has put some thought and work into a discussion. It has not happened me yet but then my discussions are not worth copying
I would always report a post if it was plagiarise from another source. It is us, the members that have the responsibility to stop this happening.
If someone has an original idea it should be theirs and theirs alone.

Well I can say that I haven't had my discussions copied. But there was one thing that happened. Some one saved my aviator picture and used it for themselves. Now if it was a picture I got off the internet some where, I wouldn't mind. But the picture is of me and I am the original owner. I was furious because they didn't ask me for permission to use the photo. Even though it is not the same, but the principle is still the same. The fact that a person has copied something and used it for themselves.
The aviator should be unquie to tell us a bit about the type of person we are. It is the same as our discussions. So I am with you, stop copying other people's pictures and discussions.

Is plagurism legal on mylot? I think you should report them or something, because plagurism is not cool. That is why most teachers rant on plagurism, because it pisses most people off when many people copy them.

Plagiarism is illegal EVERYWHERE!
Copying the work of others and calling it your own is an offence!

Personally I do not think we will ever quit seeing this. Especially since there are so many New people coming in here all of the time, and others choosing to leave. My main thoughts when I see someone with also the same Title as one of my discussions, especially if it is a Newer discussion that I have started is to wonder if they ran out of ideas or thjought because I have been here a while I was worth copying the Title on.
My problem is when someone does this, is when they end up getting more responses back to mine, then it can be annoyinf for sure. I also like to go in and make sure that they have not pretty much copied all of my discussion as well just to make sure they are not further breaking the TOS for sure.

I feel sorry if somebody copied your discussions and I think that is really unfair! I hope that won't happen again because that is wrong. For me I would rather respond to more discussions than to copy the works of others. Again I hope that won't happen to you again. That has not happened to me before and I will also get mad if others copy my own work.

A few people have done this to me. I believe it's because the topic generated a lot of posts so they felt if they copied it, they too would get more replies and hence more money. You can report them. You're not supposed to copy threads.

Dear JellyMonty,
I have not had this happen to me yet but I have noticed it a couple of times.
Your right, people need to come up with their own ideas. They should use their life experiences or someone that they know. They can always alter their stories a bit if they don't want to personalize it too much. You have ever right to be upset and it isn't fair somone else gets credit for something you did. They should ashamed!

I can't believe that there are people like this. They don't even think they will be banned here by doing that. May I ask are there old members or new?. They look lame, they entered this site and cheat. What more you can get from this. All people have brains but I guess them are melted.

Hi jellymonty, this has been happening time and again here. In fact yesterday when I answered the discussion "why can't I say thank you in my lot?" I commented about it, that there was another discussion with the same topic..It has happened to me once when another member started a discussion on the same topic and with the same discussion title..

Sorry to hear that. I will support the original version. Reproducing other's discussions without authorization is a immoral behavior.

Hi Jellymonty,
Wow, seems like someone is really desperate.
If he/she did it once, it could just be a coincidence. But if that happens again and again then yeah that could not be pure coincidence. Is it done by the same person?
I never had this happened to me ... well mostly because I have not started a lot of discussions and those that I started are not popular LOL.
