and am in awful pain! Seven teeth were removed and the roots were dug out. He put in about 15 to 20 stitches and I have to wear my dentures for 24 hours straight and then tomorrow I take them out and then gently rinse with salt water and put the them back in and keep them in for as much as I can stand them. Right now, hubby has gone to the store to get me some of the soft foods that I can eat such as cottage cheese, eggs, rice and a few other things that the dentist gave on a list. I do have some pain killers which isn't doing much good at all so I took a xanax which makes the nerves stop shooting in all directions, that hurts! So since I did that, it's still hurting but I'm flying high! lol So it seems that it may be a few days before I get back on here so hang in there folks, I'll be back!! Now please don't forget to pray for Willie and his mom Sue!! I will keep you updated on everything as soon as I hear something and when I feel up to it once again. Thanks to all of you!! Hugs!! When is the last time you've been to the dentist? I know I wish I never had to go but having weak teeth that break all the time, I hadn't a choice. It really does suck!

Hey hey hey!! You got your 9 star back!! AWESOME!! See! I worked on it and now it's back! Awesome! Anyway, I had taken a pain killer and had fallen asleep on the couch and when I woke up, I thought I better let all of you know how it went. It was right rough because the dentist couldn't get my left side to numb up. He got the right side the first time but the left side he had to stick me several times before it took affect. I'm about to fall out of my chair for I can't keep my eyes open so I'm going to go lay down after an at least I tried attempt to answer the last two but if I don't, I'll get them later when I wake up. HUGS!!

Are you hungry yet? LOL Oh sweetheart I do so feel for you. I lost my teeth due to a parasite I picked up in Jamaica. I had beautiful teeth and my parents spent a fortune on dentists over the years. You just never know what's going to happen to your teeth or anything else in life eh? Keep smiling and I want pictures of your beautiful new smile!

You know sparks, I'd love to visit other countries but the more I hear about the different parasites in different countries, the more I'd rather stay home! It's too scary and ultimately isn't worth the chance! I often wonder how the residents of these countries live with these things? Do they become immune to them or what? I saw this show about different attacks of wild animals and this young boy had a parasite in his leg that would move and drive him crazy. The doctor removed all but one and the boy wasn't sure if that's what it was till later and when it moved the last time, the boy cut his own skin open and coaxed the thing to come out of the hole and he plucked it right out of his leg!! Talking about gross!! Ewwwww Ewwwww!!

Ah sweety, I will be thinking about you. I hope you get a good nights sleep. I had to cut my response short, while I was writing you, all hell broke loose around here. Major wiggin out. As much as I love them I want them to get the hell up out of my house. I am so tired of all the attitudes. I am in need of whippin some A$$es. I read the response from the rude and nasty person above. We myloters stick together and stick up for each other. We also welcome newbies with open arms. This is not the place to be rude and nasty to anyone, specially when there was no reason for it. Take care Hun, see you soon.

I'm in pain but just took a pain killer and am about to fall out of this chair!! lol In all honesty I don't think they're doing me any good but when I took a xanax, that really calmed the nerves a lot so maybe between the two, I'll make it through. Trust me, seeing a dentist isn't my thing either and is why I asked for the gas and then the novocain shots because, the shots don't hurt as bad then. Still hurts but not nearly as bad. I'm now half asleep so I'm going to go laa down

Oh poor you, it made my teeth ache in sympathy for you just reading this. I really hope that the pain eases for you really soon. The last time I went to the dentist was 7 months ago and all I had to have was a teeth clean and it was horrible. I am due again but cannot afford to pay for it at the mo due to my hubby being out of work so it will have to wait until he can find another job, hey theres no rush I dont mind NOT going hehe!!

Geeze.... I was doing so good there for a while and now I'm going back down hill and it really sucks! It'll get better, I know but it's so aggravating! I have one huge sore on my gums from the dentures and it hurts like HELL!! So I can't wear the dentures like my dentist wanted me to. I did wear them for the first 36 hours then I had to take them out to rinse again like I was told to and couldn't get them back in. Thank God tomorrow is Monday because I'm going back first thing!!

Hey cats! I told you I had 5 pulled at once and I wish you lots of luck with the getting the dentures back in! I tried and it was a no way in hell! He gave hydrocodone, hell that did nothing! I wasn't able to wear my dentures for months until he figured out a way to fix the insides to mold them to my mouth! And then they were made lopsided because I still had my teeth when the friggen mold was made! I am still waiting for the new set now almost a year later! Don't ask! My bones just didn't heal right! So don't go by me, hopefully you will have a better time! My girlfriend did! She wore hers from the beginning with no problem! That stuff only happens to me! The pulling wasn't so bad at all! I wasn't in that much pain from the the surgery or the stiches! It was just when I tried to put the dentures in! I hope you feel better soon!

Hi Opal! I'm still sitting here in a daze like state and I still feel the pain. Your girlfriend must've been one tough gal!! I hope she realizes how lucky she is! I can't wait for these few days to go by because it'll be a step closer to healing once and for all. Look at that nasty response I got above yours! Can you believe it? Brave?! Not me!! It wasn't a matter of choice, my teeth were so brittle that they kept breaking through the years even going to the dentist every 6 months for check ups and fillings and so forth and still couldn't keep my teeth. I tried everything under the sun make them stronger but being that it runs in my family with brittle teeth, I got it too. Look at the asinine response I got right below yours.... I thought this gal was right nice, I couldn't have been more wrong! Wow!

Sore mouth rinse - This helps with denture pain, or any other mouth pain and heals it rather quickly! Really great stuff!!
Actually, I'm doing better than I had anticipated! Kind of nice to expect the worst and not getting it. lol I'm in pain, yes but not as much as I thought I would be. The only real problem I'm having is on the inside of my left bottom, the denture is rubbing a bit too much and has caused a blister to form. Hubby and I sanded it down some in hopes it'll do the trick and will know in about 20 minutes because I just rinsed my mouth out with amosan which is an oral wound cleanser and hopefully tomorrow morning it'll be better. Amosan works really fast! I learned about it when I saw a dentist in Arkansas while living there and now I order the stuff online. Thank you, I hope to be up and about really soon too!

Awwww AnnieOakley!! That's very kind of you to say!! Thank you so much for caring!! But I'm doing ok, better than I expected but then again, the third day is usually the hardest and that'll be on Monday. I'm not looking forward to that day at all so I'm going to be ready and take my pain killers first thing after a glass of milk (YUCK!) to coat my stomach first and then go to sleep and pray that I stay asleep. You are so right, it'll get better in due time, I just wish that "due time" would hurry up and get here!! lol

Hi Cats! I'm sorry you're in pain, but now that you've had the work done, you will feel so much BETTER after it heals! No matter how diligent I am in oral hygiene, I am prone to jaw infections that require surgery to fix. I don't wish that kind of pain on my worst enemy (except for maybe a certain ignorant bytch on page one). I know how much it hurts NOW, but if you required all that, it must have hurt quite a bit before! I think in a few days you will feel a lot better and be glad that you did what had to be done. Once it heals it won't hurt like it did. Just try to take it easy and let your friends handle the stupid people. :) Big hugs to you, I hope you feel better soon!

Hi AngryKitty! I'm surviving so far so I think I'll make it through. Wait! The third day isn't here yet, that's usually the worst day after such a large procedure is done, which will be on Monday. I'll probably knock myself out for the day because that saying is true with me. The third day is HELL-O-MY!! We'll see how it plays out.... btw the b!tch's comments along with everybody else's was deleted. Just as well. She was so nice before and all of the sudden she acts like this? I don't get it at all and she really threw me for a loop!! I removed her from my friends list and she won't be put back on until I get a formal and public apology. Till then, she can keep on going down lonely lane! lol So you get jaw infections? Really? What exactly is that? I'm prone to get sinus infections every deg gone spring and fall without fail and it hurts my face and jaw so bad! But with strong antibiotics it's gone within a week or two but boy do I suffer!! Whew! I'm really curious about this jaw infection though because I've never heard of it. Big ole hugs to you too sweetie!! Oh! BTW, I'm feeling alright at the moment.... I'm flying high on pain killers!! LMBO!! Weeeeeeee ohhhhhhhh!! LOL

I went to the dentist yesterday for a checkup. I had to because a few days back I started having problems again with my wisdom tooth! Yet again! Anyway, he told me to wait a bit: an inflammation can take place but for now he's just keeping me observed regularly. In fact I have to go again in two weeks' time. Will wait and see. Otherwise, he would have to take it out! If you like soups, they might help you: probably they are on your list too. Don't drink them too hot because it would be awful. When I had braces, my mum used to give me a lot of soups because other food would simply stick to my braces!

Maybe your dentist should've given you some antibiotics to help with the inflammation? I would've thought he would but then again, maybe there's not an infection but when wisdom teeth come in and cause havoc like it's doing you, I would think they've give me an prescription of antibiotics just in case so that when he is to take them out, you'd be covered a head of time. I wish you the best of luck in getting them out!! I have a list of things that I can eat which is macaroni and cheese, rice, jello, mashed potatoes, yogurt, ice cream and a few other things so I'm doing alright. Thanks for the suggestion!! That was right nice of you!

HAHA. Just like you, i am also having these kind of suffering. I just went to the dentist yesterday to put my brace. Well, i had these kinda operation for two days already. My dentist suggested that she will just call me everytime the materials will be present. Since the materials are not packed together into one, i really have to go there day by day. At first, i had my cleaning and it seems very refreshing to me. Then the next day, she started putting the brackets but without the string still. It is really awkward to have one, and my speaking skills are weird, can't talk well now. Then the next she put the strings already. And up to now, i am really suffering from a very painful pain. I cannot also eat hard food and must be contented of the soft diet. Gosh, can't help it. Its really painful.

Oh bless your heart!! You must be talking about braces. Those silver metal things that kind of looks like a railroad track.... am I right? I've heard how they hurt because of the dentist tightening them in order to get your teeth straightened. I can't imagine going through that. I really can't so I feel for you!! I wish you the best life has to offer because I know that kind of pain and it's no fun at all!!

Scary or not, you really should see a dentist to be sure you don't have any cavities or in need of fillings. Otherwise, your teeth can decay and fall out or cause a lot of pain and I'm sure you don't want that. I hate going to the dentist but because I did go every 6 months, I was able to keep my teeth as long as I did and I'm 44 years old. My mom lost all of her teeth when she was just 17 years old.

Ha ha? Hey! That's mean! or were you being sarcastic? I can handle that because it is a sarcastic situation. Count your blessings for having strong teeth. I wish I had strong teeth but obviously I didn't because they kept on breaking all the time. The very first one that broke, I about came out of my shoes because it was soooo painful!! Then the others broke and didn't hurt at all but I tasted something hard like a rock in my mouth and I'd get to thinking "oh no! not again!" Now I have some of my uppers but not many and none on my bottoms. It does suck!

Oh no! Wisdom teeth and a grouchy kid don't go together very well! I do feel for you!! I wish you the best of luck in that and a lot of patience for he's going to be a bear to be around after it's done! As for myself, I'm doing better than I expected to be doing but then again, they say the third day is the hardest and that's on Monday. I plan on taking my pain meds early and possibly double up on it and go to sleep the whole day so I won't feel anything at all! lol

I share the same fate as you. I think we both lack calcium when we were young but luckily I don't have to go to such extent of extracting many teeth. I've extracted some already and yes, it is really painful and pain killers won't help much. Why don't you eat something really cold like ice cream? It really works for me. Hope you feel better soon.

Poor Cats, I feel so bad for you. My last husband, who passed away had to go through that procedure as well. I hope they put you to sleep before doing all that. Try not to miss any doses of pain killers so as to have some in your system at all times until the pain subsides. Mashed potatoes work too. Any chance you like yogurt? My last time I went to the dentist he pulled two teeth, one on each side of the mouth. One of them got a dry socket and I could eat anything for two weeks. The first thing I ate was mashed potatoes and it not only tasted wonderful but it felt great in my stomach. I wish you nothing but a quick and painless healing. Hugsssss leenie

Hi leenie! I'm doing good so far (knock on wood!) I'm about as high as a kite and a kite can be high! lol No they didn't put me to sleep but they did both novocain and gas and with the gas I still felt the novocain! I curl up like caterpillar, I can't help it because it's so darned painful. I love yogurt and mashed potatoes and have been eating jello too so I'm doing pretty good right now if you know what I mean! LOL Hugs to you too!!

Hi CatsandDogs I was just ready to respond and my attention got diverted by some nastiness going on back there, Geesh... Anyway all I can say is Ouch! It all sounds so sore, you poor thing! You've got to keep thinking how great it will be when all is healed. It's funny how we don't appreciate how nice is to have no pain until we do! Your husband sounds like he's taking good care of you and I hope it all feels a bit better for you soon, take care and rest up and I will keep up the prayers for your friend's son.

Hi Paula.... yeah, ouch is the word! lol I can't wait for all of this to be behind me and truth be told, I'm doing better than I thought I'd be. Last night was a little rough so I doubled up on the pain killers the one time and it did the trick! But I won't be eating any solid foods for about a month till it all heals up really good. Hubby is a gem! He's doing everything that he can to help me feel better and even gets on me to rest. lol I'm not one to stay down, I get to antsy and have to get up and move around some or I'll go batty! Thank you so much for keeping up with the prayers! So far I haven't heard anything and as they say, no news is often times good news!

I'm cringing at the pain you must be in! I get cranky when mine get sensitive due to cold or hot. Hoping things settle down for you soon, and you're feeling tops ASAP. You evidently have many that care about you, so that must be a little bit of a consolation.

I'm so sorry! I hope you are feeling a little bit better today! I couldn't imagine how much pain you are in. I had four impacted wisdom teeth removed at once and that was bad enough! Maybe you can call your dentist and get a stronger pain medication prescription? I hope you have a very speedy recovery! I was to the dentist just a couple of months ago. It really stinks because it seems like once you get one cavity they start popping up. I'd like to think I take care of my teeth, but you can't prevent any and everything from happening. P.S. I'm very sorry to see some of the rudeness displayed by another poster here. You didn't deserve what she said at all. My husband is 32 years old and he never had a cavity in his life. He thought he was above and beyond it. He'd like to make fun of me because I had to go back to the dentist and have a molar filled here and there...and guess what? With all of his "great" hygiene and brushing his teeth, what did he get last month? A cavity filled. No one is above and beyond any problem. Sometimes it doesn't matter how well you take care of your teeth. Unfortunate things happen.

Hi jmlyn! Thank you so much for your kind words!! That's mighty sweet of you!! I'm doing a lot better than I expected but am still in pain but the pain killers seem to be doing it's job. Right now I'm kind of flying high as I type this!! LOL Whew weeeeeee!! lol What ever it takes to handle the pain is fine by me!! LOL I took after my mother, she lost all of her teeth when she was just 17 years old! Her body couldn't and still doesn't absorb calcium very well and she gets kidney stones from the calcium. I have every one of her ailments except the kidney stones but she didn't get that until later on in life so I just may get it too but I'm so praying not!! Seeing her in that pain is the hardest thing to see for a child. Oh don't worry about that responder! I'll admit, I was shocked by her meanness because she was always so nice before and then she goes off on me like that. It did throw me for a loop! lol That's ok, she's gone now and hopefully she'll never respond to any of my discussions again. I can't understand how people turn on their "so called friends" like she did. Oh well, I brush it off and move on.
