Last week I experienced hypertension for the second time. I had a severe headache and vomitting. I took medicine to lower my blood pressure. The following week I had my lipid profile examined. It was found out in the lipid profile examination I had low HDLs or good cholesterol. HDLs are helpful in maintaining a lower blood pressure. Do you know how can I increase my HDLs or good cholesterol in the body ? What food should I take to increase my HDLs ?

What you have to do is to get rid of those trans fats. That is read the labels, and if it contains trans fats, don't buy them. You can use butter by the way, but in limited quantities. Exercise is good, lots of walking for instance. Use olive oil, avocados are quite good (very tasty if mixed with salsa. Canola is also good, but I love olive oil the best and it is better for you. There is cooking as well as extra virgin. Have fiber in your diet. I love rolled oats, also buy multi=grain bread when the first ingredient is not enriched white flour.
By the way, if you do any baking, you can sneak in applesauce for half the butter, substitute whole wheat for half the flour, and maybe all of it if you are making brownies, use part honey for the sugar. No one will notice and your good cholesterol will go up.

Check your food intake. From my experience, I changed my diet, example:
for breakfast - I eat oats or cooked banana, drink 1 cup of 3 n 1 coffee w/ mushroom, for a.m. snacks - 1 apple, for lunch - 1 cup of rice, fish and vegetables, 1 ripe banana, for p.m. snacks - bread w/ 1 glass of fruit juice, for supper - 2 pcs of cooked bananas w/ vegetables (eat fresh fruits that are available in your place)
I managed to eat oily food and meat just once or twice a week. Rarely I drink soft drinks of any kind. What I mean is that, eat fresh food, like vegetables and fruits for your vitamins and minerals! Eating more meat and oily food are good source for increased bad cholesterol. Stress can trigger our bad cholesterol too.
