First of all I would like to greet every mothers here in mylot a VERY HAPPY MOTHER'S day :) Since it's mother's day tomorrow, my hubby had asked me on what would I want to receive. Actually, I really don't know what I would want for tomorrow, coz all I really want is for us, as family to have a nice day, maybe we would be going out and dine in a restaurant and watch movie in a cinema. For me, even if we always do this thing, going out and dining in a restaurant, what really matters is that we are having a great time as a family and I could see them happy. How do you celebrate mother's day? Do you give gifts to your mom? and as a mom, how do your family make your day a great one?

We usually go out to eat. There is just me and my husband at home. My kids are always busy. And, since I don't cook them a meal, they don't show up. Actually, my daughter has a son playing Premier (traveling) soccer, and they have a tournament every Mother's Day weekend. They've been gone since yesterday. Last year, they came here after the Saturday games, but they were so tired, she decided not to do that this year. We did go to the Sunday game, but it cost $10 to park for only one day as to $10 for ALL three days, if you go on Friday, so we aren't going. Don't have a clue as to what we will do this year. Hey, I'm just happy to be alive and that my Mother is still alive at 92.

I didn't see either of my children this weekend, but that's okay. My daughter lives over an hour away from me, even if she had been home. She has 4 children at home, but only one was with her for the weekend. We went to my Mother's and took dinner to her.

Hello ANTIQUELADY, I wish you a very lovely day today. I just hope that both you and your oldest son would be able to patch up everything you're going through. Spending time with love ones is really the most important, and having your youngest son and his family would be a lovely time. Have a good day :)

That's so sweet of your husband dear. i do buy gifts for my mom. Today I bought one book that she wanted to read for long time. She was excited like a child when she got it! Its lovely making them feel special for they are special but we seldom tell them that they are!

When I could afford it I would buy my mother a Mother's Day gift, but I no longer have it that way. When my son was younger he would always make me a card, which I still have them all to this day. I usually do not do anything special, I go to church and come back home. My husband no longer have his mother. Mother's day is just a day of relaxing for me. Actually, I am cooking tomorrow's dinner today, so that I won't have to do that tomorrow. My husband can not cook, so he would not be cooking dinner for me

Well, Mother's Day was yesterday and I had a wonderful day! I woke up and my son brought my gift to me. It was a flower that he picked out when his daddy (my hubby) took him shopping. I also got a gift card to one of my favorite clothing stores. And my son made me a homeade Mother's Day card and it was so sweet. Then we went to church. Then we went to give my mother in law her gift but she wasn't there yet so we went on to my mom's house. We were having lunch over at mom's so I helped her cook. While I helped her cook my husband took his mom's gift back over to her. Then he came back and we all ate lunch and just had a great time with the whole family. We didn't leave her house until 8:30 last night. So I had a great day!

I'm so far from my mom that a phone call first thing in the morning is my gift. My sister and mom have a standing tradition of going out to buy garden flowers and having lunch. Times are tough all over so all I ask is that my daughter, husband and I are all together on Mothers Day because last year I was in the hospital.

Hello Nhey16, Happy Mother's Day to you and me too! I agree with you- even though we spend time and do the same things together, the quality of time spending together is the most valuable. My mom came to the city unexpectedly yesterday and one of my sisters bought her a Mother's Day cake. We ate together - my mom, my family and my sister's family, together with a few of my nieces and nephews (represent the family who couldn't be there yesterday!) It was like a small, unplanned gathering! I kissed my mom and I have done that many times but yesterday, it was just like a bless for me to be able to kiss her cheek once again! As for my family, my husband and 2 1/2 years son decided to celebrate it at home. I got a gift from them and a hug, and for that, I prepared a special dishes for our lunch together *smiles* I am content with my life right now and the only gift I want from them is happiness forever!

My mom passed away two years ago, so I'm the only "mom" in the family now. The way I like to spend Mother's Day is by doing anything I want to do, all day long. I love spending it with my family if I'm feeling okay but, if I'm not, I like to spend it alone, watching TV, reading a book, doing some gardening, whatever. JUST SO I DON'T HAVE TO COOK! LOL I don't care if food is ordered to be delivered, if we go to a restaurant or if someone in the family makes it, just so I don't have to, I'm happy. My husband has NEVER asked me what I want for Mother's Day. I guess he doesn't feel obligated since I'm not his mother (although I FEEL like his mother often). My oldest son is the one who remembers and always buys me something. I told him this year, with the economy the way it is, I don't want him spending anything on me. Just spending time together is fine with me! I told him that, if he feels he HAS to buy me anything, he could pick me up an inexpensive potted plant that I can plant outside. I LOVE plants! Anyway, A VERY HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to you, too!!!

Hey there Nhey16 Well we celebrated Mother's Day back in March here in jolly old England. I wasn't able to get together with my mum this year like I do most years as I am a Mother myself and my son had a rugby match on that day and my Mother lives 2 hours drive from me. Mother's Day is often on my mum's birthday and sometimes on mine too. This year I gave her a mug with some nice words on it, a box of chocolates and a cd. She is a lucky mum but I am a luckier daughter having a Mother like I do! I do hope you have a lovely day whatever you end up doing.

In our country, Mother's Day was not exist. But since recent years, some of our youth generation begin to celebrate this festival, coz we really think it necessary for our great moms. They give us most valuable life, nurture us and accompany during the our growth. I am in college far away from home, so I could only sent my mom a message: Happy mother's day and I love you…… Maybe just a word, or a message can express our love, so we could just use our fingers to convey our love for mom.
