I normally vote republican, this time I voted Libertarian. I hate socialism, and that's all Obama had to offer. The republican party is almost indistinquishable from the Democratic party, so McCain was out. So I voted my conscience, Bob Barr.
Limited government is the answer if americans wish to keep more of their money. We can't keep looking to the government to solve all our problems. The more we do this, the more control they get over the american people. The country is turning into a nanny state. Don't drink, don't smoke, eat all the right foods, get your exercise, etc. The government has no right to impose this type of nanny statism on the american people, they are not our parents.
I know there are many people that happily give up their freedom in exchange for the government taking care of them, and that's truly sad

I'll make enemies for sure with this but I voted for Obama too. I am definitely not prejudiced but I never thought I would live to see a black man elected to president. I am glad people looked beyond color and voted for the person who would do the best job. I think at least he is trying. I cannot remember when (or even if) I heard a president talk about fixing schools and roads in THIS country. I think the Bush administration has a lot to answer for. I cannot believe what has happened to this country. I think we the people need hope and Obama gives me hope.
