I'm learning English in my college school. And we can chose another language when we are in grade three.I want to learn German.Because they say that German are very upright, and the language is similar to English,it won't be too difficult to learn!

I heard German is one of the hardest language to learn because I have a well, German friend. But I am not discouraging you, I think it would be really great if you can learn how to speak another language except your native ones. Right now, I am learning Korean and Japanese.

Hmm, as a fluent speaker of both German and English, I have to say that it is definitely NOT easy to learn. The word order is quite different, for a start, and the grammar to some extent too. I would say that French, for example, is closer to English than German is.

Personally I would go for Russian because I love the culture and people... and I have an, ummm, close friend whose native language it is. Listening to him speak Russian makes me go weak at the kneees *lol*
Secondly I would go for Welsh, as many of my family come from Wales and it is a part of my heritage.
Other options are Swedish and Japanese, because I am also interested in these countries. I also need to improve my French and Italian.

Earlier I would have said Spanish because it would be somewhat useful in this area. But I tried to learn Spanish before and it really got me no where.
So I think if I could learn a language I would learn Dutch so that I could talk to relatives at family reunions. That would be pretty cool.

I'm currently learning Spanish because there are a lot of hispanics in the area that I live. I would also love to learn French because I'm planning a trip to France in the next couple of years, and it would be nice to be able to speak to the people of the country. I also want to learn a language that would be really difficult for me like Japanese or Mandarin. I love a good challenge.

I took Spanish both in high school and in college because where I live, there's a large Spanish-speaking population and I thought it would be beneficial to whatever career I chose to be able to speak to that population should the need arise.

Im currently learning French. A few weeks ago I vacationed on a French island in the south pacific. Being immersed in the French culture and being treated so kindly by all the French people and tourists I felt inspired to learn French. So I enrolled in an intensive (every day) 2 week course at my local Alliance Francaise. This week I will be starting level 2. I've chosen French as is one of the main languages used in international business and realtions and I hope to become an international diplomat. Also as its my dream to travel throughout Europe and French is also spoken in Swizterland, parts of Belgium and even in other parts of the world such as some parts of Canada and many islands in the south pacific including New Caledonia and Tahiti.
I would also love to learn Italian. As I love the italian culture and the beautiful language. One day in the future I also hope to learn dutch as I have some dutch heritage.
