I think your question is in the most appropriate time. i am also in your situation.
According to me , doing MBA in a reputed institution like IIM will be worth . But
doing mba in an ordinary college is of no value. Coming to ME ,all say that the
people go to teaching profession., it is a fact. i am also in a confused state.

I think it's always good to go for ME/MTech. This is because, dong an advanced study in your core subjects adds to your resume. I would surely go for MTech because I like my core subjects and there's nothing that can make me happy. Apart from that getting an MTech/MS, also increases the chances of you finding a job related to your subjects, which would make work easier.

Frankly speaking at present it is better to do ME after BE or B.TECH. I am also a B.TECH. Because at present market condition at is hard to find a MBA job. More and more people getting sacked now a days from the big big corporate houses. If there will be less number of employees then they will require less no of MBA guys. So my opinion is ME is better than MBA. Again if you do ME then you always have the option of getting into teaching line which is also a good paid job now and you will have much more job security. MBA was a good option before this economic crisis as then you could get lots of money from the companies.

this seems to be a kind of critical question, now in the time of recession, experts are agreed upon getting ur skills polished that may include MBA or further education in concerned stream which is happned to M.E. in ur case if u take my opinion , I wil suggest u to try 4 MBA coz der r 2 reasons 1st is u still have ample of time 2 prepare 4 CAT or other xams and the 2nd is u can try ur hands in several fields with MBA degree. whatever it may be, but the final decision is urs. I will suggest u 2 take guidance of carrer counsellor in such serious situation.
