BOSTON — A trolley rear-ended another trolley that was stopped between two underground stations in downtown Boston on Friday night, injuring about 50 people, and one of the conductors told police he was texting at the time of the crash, officials said. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,519578,00.html What do you think should happen to the conductor? Do you think he should be fired, suspended, ticketed, fined? It's one thing to endanger your self but to endanger all those people what was this guy thinking?!? What are you thoughts on this texting while driving subject??

Oh my god. I think the conductor should be seriously punished for his action. He should be fired for such irresponsible behavior. How could he text and drive at the same time? By doing this, he's actually endangering everyone, including himself. I seriously think that once he's on the job, he should only be concentrating on the driving and nothing else.

Yes, you're right. He should be fired from the company for using of cell phone during work. He should also be barred from driving forever. The police should put him to jail and also revoked his driving license. This type of irresponsible people should not be on the road...

Hello, When I first heard that people actually text while they are driving, I was soo shocked I could not beleive what I was hearing, and to actually see it was even worst, I thought to myself how in the world could they focus on the road and be safe all at the same time while texting, I don't even want to text when I'm home because it interferes with somthing else I may be doing. Happy My Lotting!

I'm not much of a texter but everyone in a while I do. When I am driving if some one texts me I have a "quick text" that says ... "I'm driving I'll call or text when I can" ... All I do is hit 2 buttons to get that message sent.

I can't text and drive I tried it one time when no one was on the road in front of me or behind me and I found out in about two seconds flat I was already in the other lane! That's when I said NO WAY am I going to ever do that again. I could have killed someone! I think texting can wait until I get to where I'm going and can safely do it when I am NOT driving.

The other day I was reading an article about a person who killed a biker while she was painting her finger nails. Today, this. It's become quite common that everybody is using their cellphones while they are driving. While some do it responsibly some take chances like this guy. He should have been more careful, but what's with the texting. I mean they have a ban on talking on phones during driving and this guy went to the extent of messaging?? Great. bourne

I would think that legaly not being allowed to use your cell phone while driving also ment not texting but maybe I'm wrong. I think the guy should be jailed, fined, and never allowed to carry a cell phone again!

It's bad enough to talk on the cellphone while driving; it's worse to be texting. How can anyone hope to pay attention to the road and other cars or people, while half his/her attention is on forming and typing messages? These people do not know the dangers they could cause others; just plain ignorance or unconcern for others? The driver's license should be revoked forever.

I think they do know the danger but think "it couldn't happen to me" I agree his license should be revoked I also think he should be banned from ever having a cell phone!

I do text while I'm driving, but I make sure to look at the road and not at my phone. I've memorized the keys so I can text even without looking at it. It is very risky and I don't recommend doing it. Even I don't do it as often, I even avoid doing it even if I can. Just like drinking and driving. The conductor should have his driving license revoked.

I do not text while driving. I know I would get too distracted if I did it. So I will put my phone on silent into my purse while driving so I can pay attention to the road. I am more concerned with getting to my destination safely than answering the phone. If it is imperative, I pull over to a safe spot and handle the call.

While I don't put my phone on silent I don't text while driving. I talk while driving some times but can't text.

On the way home from mcdonalds today I was watching the cars pass on the other side of the road and I saw at least three people driving with their mobile stuck to their earhole. I have seen people driving while texting too and it makes me so mad because how can they be concentrating on their driving? simple they are not and some innocents are likely to be the victims. I think that if it is true that he was on his mobile texting or calling then he should be fired as simple as that.

I think its totally unsafe! the only time i text is when im not the driver, not doing something that requires my attention (ok i dont text much it took me from last july til easter to get 93 texts sent and received) And if i get a text and have to read/respond to it i pull over or wait til i stop.

That is one of the annoying people that I hate when ever i get into a taxi or another service vehicle. there was this driver that i kept looking and i didn't sleep at all because this guy kept looking at his Mobile phone and driving at the same time. Finally, after riding in his van for more than 5 times, i decided to speak up and scold him of what he's doing. he argued with me and stop and text again while driving. until he almost hit a police car. and thank god for that officer, when he went down and asked for his license i went down too and told the cop the whole story. iv'e heard he never drove again and took out his license. Good Riddens!

I don't text at all. I have no use for it as my family call me on the phone instead of texting. And as far as texting and driving, that is totally dangerous. It is as bad as driving and watching tv. I couldn't do it at all, and I wouldn't even try it. It would be to hard to keep my eyes on the road while texting, as it is more important to watch what I am doing so as not to get into an accident. Have a great day and happy mylotting.
