Stage fright is very common. Every speaker experiences it. Many talented people fail to express their thoughts and insightful views just because of this menacing fear. Their potential and talent go in vain because they are unable to break this jinx. Public speaking scares them to the core. What do you suggest such people to overcome this corrosive, depleting and self-destructive fear?

It is not only experienced by speakers, It's also main strestful moment for all stage performers like musicians, actors, poets, comedians etc. I am a musician and I have been performing many times on stage and there is always some kind of fear, a stressful fright that is rising up a blood pressure and a temerature of your body.. i can say it is very helpful because it is inreasing our reaction time and when something unexpectful happend it ends up with burst of ideas in our mind to help resolve a situation. I guess speakers the often get more interesting speeches just because of that fright. I am sure it isn't destructive or corrosive. It depends on how you get approach your performance and duty on stage. After a years of experience I am missing that fact that I get used to it and there is almost no fear at all regardless the amount of audience!

You are right when you say that it is experienced by all performers on the stages. I agree with you. But why I call it destructive and corrosive because it saps your confidence and erodes your talent like termite erodes wood.

well, it depends of your sensitivity and also on how much of xperience you ve got. If you are very sensitive and easily disruptive in what you are doin' maybe you shoud prepare yourself a little bit more to be more defiant and ingore all circumstances causing that corrosion? I assume everybody is different so we all shoud work out our own methods to fight out stress and protect our vulnurable artistic mind. I hope you do well :)

even i had stage fright when i was a child. i am a dancer basically. firstly i used to be very scared to perform alone on stage. my fright never left me. so i stopped performing solo & started being a part of a group dance. but then to it happens. till date i have a stage fright. stage fright is good to be. you have to get nervous before performing in such a big crowd. if i don't get nervous then i feel something is wrong with me. nervousness makes you perform better, its as simple as that. no tip i could give you is to overcome stage fright you can always look at the last possible person you can see & perform. this is because the last possible person would be very far and you just can't see his facial reaction to get distracted.

Absolutely I agree with you, fright is all goodness! without it a lot of beautiful creations might not ever become so great! I am so positive about it, my solos are always better if I am disturbed by fright, it's because that gives me a doze of extra adrenaline in my blood and makes me more aware of public and my pupose on stage. I think I am even addicted to my stage fright! For those who don't understand it, change your mind a bit and try to get used to it,so it will become a part of your life to have it! Absolutely positive :D
