I read this morning where a high school student that attends school at a private baptist christian school will be suspended if he attends his girlfriends high school prom at her public school. The schools reasoning is dancing, rock music are sins. Number one, when I went to prom 10 years ago there was no rock music and there was no inappropriate music either. Number two, dancing a sin? Come on. Maybe risky dancing but not just good clean have a good time dancing.I believe that the school is over stepping their bounds in something that should be a parents decision. What is your opinion on this? From what I read this high school senior still plans on attending his girlfriends prom and he will not be able to participate in his own graduation. so sad.

I'm sure that he was aware of this policy when he enrolled in this school. It may not have been his choice to go to this school but if it was his parent's choice then the Bible says obey your parents. If he didn't want to be suspended then he should have asked his parents to have him transferred to another school. If they didn't want to transfer him then he just has to obey them and deal with the consequences of this.

I was raised Southern Baptist and even attended a Southern Baptist school, we had a prom. I think this is ridicules, and very sad in the least. We have to come to a point in which we can trust our youth to make the right decision and not shield them from everything in life.
