Where do you put the stuff

We are getting renovations done, fixing up the bathroom, and adding an ensuite from the Master Bedroom. So far so good. It is through the clothes closet, so we have to take the clothes out and put them in another closet. Now we have two small closets, so I put them in the two closets and my husband says use just one closet because we have to expand that part of the hallway and build another closet. So now I have all the clothes in one small closet. Not only that, we got rid of our older dressers and are waiting for a new one, so instead of putting my t=shirts in the drawer, I have to hang them up. And we have to clear off the top shelves of the closets even the one with our clothes because they are going to put in new baseboards. I have already donated sheets and clothes to Value Village, and have gone through all our papers, but there are some we still need, and my writing equipment, references, etc. Yet he does not want me to mess up the basement. I do not have a filing cabinet, just two file boxes, and four accordian folders and they do not look that good. And we are not moving into an senior's apartment. As soon as the bathroom is in and the closet fixed, and the ensuite in, much of the clothes are going into the drawers. But the stuff is going down in the basement, and I guess I will have to buy a file cabinet. So where do you store the stuff when you renovate?

We usually just pile it all in one room till it gets done. I hope that it will be a speedy renovation so things can get back to normal as soon as possible.

I have so much that It takes more than one room, and part of that is what we got from my mother-in-law, and father-in-law plus over 30 years of marriage.

I have to finish up my spring cleaning soon. I just spent a week at my moms so I got a bit behind on it. I am thinking of having a yard sale with alot of it. I need more room o store my junk..lol I have 4 closets full of it and 3 rooms full one is nothing but a room full of stuff that you can barely get in the door a few inches without having ot move something out of the way..

Things get stuffed in boxes and under beds and on top of other things. It is awful, I have so much stuff myself. If your basement is usable, I say go for it.

i take apart the xtra bed in the spare room and jus flip it against the wall and store everything in that room until 1 other room is finished. now puttng them in a basement where you have to bust your chops carring them up and down dosen't make sence to me, but if your young and strong go for it. i did call one of those box company's where they deliver a storage trailer and you keep it until your done, $$$$$$$$$$$. that was to much for me to waste money on. yeah i just go from room to room the closer the better for the knee's.

That is tough. I know when we moved into this house I had to really do some creative thinking as to what I wanted to do with things. I haven't gotten it set the way that I want it yet and probably never will. It seems that there is too much remodeling to be done and I know that we don't have the money to do it. I hope that I can get a bar built soon so that I will have some extra storage with it. However, I don't know where I will put the bookcase that it where it will go. I have to have it. I would tell my husband that I was using the basement like it or not. I would love to have a basement.

Right now the stuff is in our basement and I am thinking of getting a filing cabinet so I can put some of the stuff in it.

I haven't renovated but I've moved cross country and when I need to store something like winter clothes I'll put them in a box and cover it with an old curtain or something and use it as a table. If it's a strong box you can put a lamp on it, which I've done, but I usually put a flower arrangement atop it or something else pretty.

I usually put things that don't have to be used right away in totes and put them in the garage until it is over, and I can figure out what I need to do. The clothes and things I put in baskets and just try to find somewhere to store them until it is done.

i do know renovation causes alot of problems, what i do is,i take a big, clean sheet of clothes and dump my clothes into it and then tie the sheet up,that prevents dust on my clothes.

We rent our place, so renovations aren't our responsibility. However, my mother did a whole bunch of renovation work on her place. She has a guest room that she isn't using for anything (doesn't even have a bed in it LOL) so when she needs to clear a working room to maintain it, she just sticks stuff in there.

We have never actually done a big rennovation before but we have done some small ones. We store things in another room that is not being worked on.

I think only you can figure where to put your stuff but as a rule of thumb I dispose the things I don't often use. So perhaps you can donate some more.
