SOLAR panels,,,homemade that really work?? Do you know any?

Hi people! Those sunny days are back and feeling that great sun I'm asking . Is this the year I find that Solar panel that I can make that really works?? Seems I look and I check the sites year after year. Anybody have there own ideas that work? Or have any of you made some from plans? I want to work on cutting the elec.bill down.Would also work great on my cabin! So out here I put fourth, can anyone help out w/some info. Any of you overseas, seeing as you guys seem to use more solar, than we do here in the states?? Any places on line that I can check out! Thank for any good info. Farmer76
