Hi there. We just got our Sky Broadband internet installed yesterday since we're availing of the 15-Day Free Trial promo. So far, I'm satisfied with the speeds (well, considering that we've been using Smart Bro since forever, the speed boost really is something). My only problem is that I can't seem to do http downloads during peak hours (e.g. at night) - the rest of the day, the speeds are good (100kbps to 300kbps). I don't seem to have any problems with well-seeded torrents either so I guess we'd be changing ISPs by the end of the trial period if this connection remains consistent.
How about you guys? Have you availed of this promo? What are your thoughts of Sky Broadband so far?

Really? I hope that doesn't happen when we do get it permanently.

I do hope so..but as for matter of what's the best i would pick Bayan DSL or PLDT..
considering that Bayan is a static ISP and only few are using it..while PLDT is a dynamic one but only for those low plans..with the higher ones (business plans)they are giving a static one...

Wow that's really a speed! I envy you but I am happy with Globe broadband too. How much will that cost? That is too fast and you could download whatever you like with that kind of speed I must say. Well enjoy!

Hi there. I guess I am lucky when it comes to internet speeds. The promo period just finished and we decided to continue our subscription. No complaints so far. The plan that we're subscribed to is the 1.5Mbps plan costing Php999.00 per month, which is the same as our monthly Smart Bro bill so there's definitely no doubt that it was a, forgive the pun, smart decision. Also, we get 20% off our Sky Cable bill.

Well our office is using Sky Broadband and so far so good. We've been using this since two years ago. Well of course like any other broadband providers they too have their down times in them. The speed varies day to day but they are consistently online in the past few months. There were days that we had to suffer several days without the signal but so far in the past few months we never had the same problem before.

That's good to know. I hope they would be as reliable with household accounts as with corporate accounts such as your office's connection. Thanks for the response.

Really? i think it's good.. One question, does it mean you have to be a regular subscriber when you avail of their trial? or you can actually say no to their service right after the trial period?

Yes, you could say "no" if you're dissatisfied with their service right after the trial period. The only requirement for you to qualify for this promo is that you must have had a Sky Cable connection for at least a year.

Do you know anyone else who had Sky Broadband trial? I was wondering maybe the trial is sort of a better version of the actual services that they'll provide once you're a regular client. Since they're still convincing you to actually sign up with them? I know that PLDT used to have really good internet services, now it's frequently down and it's way slower than before.
Thanks for the response on my discussion!

I actually have a friend who availed of the free trial ahead of me and now, she has decided to continue with the subscription - says it does have it's downsides but it is better than PLDT. I will ask her for feedback before my free trial ends before making my final decision.

Hi. May I ask if that sky broadband is available nationwide? Do you think it might be applicable for a laptop also? Because Im still searching for an internet provider that may give good and fast service. Since I no longer have Sky Cable do you think they will still allow us to apply even if previously I had sky cable?

Hi there. I'm not sure about the availability of Sky Broadband nationwide. But yes, I guess it may be connected to a laptop too. I'm actually using our wireless router with their router right now and the speed is just fine. The free trial is open only for those who have been Sky Cable subscribers for at least one year, though. I guess it'd be better to ask around in your area if anyone has Sky Cable so that you can determine if the speed would be good.

Hi there. Based on the paper that I signed, if we are not satisfied after the trial period, then we could have the internet disconnected. We'll only be liable if they find any damage on the equipment (e.g. modem) they loaned to us which would be due to our fault (e.g. if we accidentally drop the modem). Other than that, well, I didn't note any bonds.
