Do you have any negative experience in the church?

Please read first before you react. I start this discussion with no intention of ruining any church or religious group, nor trying to humiliate or ridicule any person directly or indirectly related to any church or religious group. So what's the purpose of this then? I just hope that this discussion can be an eye opener to each and everyone especially to those who are very much committed to their faith/beliefs, religion, church or religious organization. Also in this discussion I have no plan of contradicting or question anyone's faith/belief nor create faction among people here in myLot. So please read on... Almost all of us all our lives I think have one way or another been to church, either active or inactive or participated to a group with same faith. Could also at one time befriend if not been really close to those people who are working in the church, either from the person in charge in the altar to the man whose in-charge of cleaning the place...we highly respect and trust them and maybe at one point some of us had confided our problems to them and seek their advices. We see them as God's representative and model individuals of good character. But unexpectedly they had behaved way differently to what we expected. I'd been to a lot of churches, not because I'm searching for truth, I know where my faith lies, just been there because of some celebration like weddings, anniversary, etc..I'd met alot of people and had been closely observed some...i consider some as good preacher, good speaker, anointed people, some are very humble...some claiming to "they walk their talk" and indeed they do...but sadly some are not...some are smiling at you and even shake your hand because you sit beside each other during the service or sermon, but seem not to know you when you cross path in the public market. Some even embrace you and so happy seeing you one sunday morning and telling you "I've been praying for you after knowing your problem" but not returning your calls. Some even saying to you "If you have problem don't hesitate to drop by" but as if no one's at home to welcome you after you've been knocking at their door. You've been so happy knowing that someone is listening to you while you're pouring your heart out and that your secret is safe, but received intent look from everybody even from the people you don't even know...as if they are looking to the most hated movie villain in the world. I can go on enumerating so many examples and maybe you can add some also...sad to say it's the reality. I also once like that...before I believed that God is love, but i just chose the people to care for. I was an active church goer, attentive and cooperative member on sunday but a hard-headed person the rest of the week. I loudly sang hymns on the church, as if showing people how i worship, then again you can't even heard me hum any church song at home. I never forgot my bible which only seem to exist on my bookshelf on sunday. I was a pretender. I repent and asked God forgiveness. I realized that when i do good it's only me who gets the credit but when i do wrong other people of the same faith and the God i serve earn the bad repute. Your responds will make these people aware what others think of them and hopefully will make them realize that "they should be what they say". Open rebuke is better than secret love.
