I do have a pretty good memory. It is not photographic, but I am visual and can remember exactly what something looked like. That helps me be a good speller! I also have a good hearing memory overall. An unusual one is my smell memory. Certain smells will cause me to stop and I will think "when did I smell that" and I can usually remember where I smelled it before and what I was doing at the time.

Yeah, it's crazy how a smell (good or bad) can spark a memory that I had tucked way away somewhere! I can smell an odor and immediately go back to where I first smelled it! I used to walk somewhere and think, "Gee it smells like church camp".

In general, I have a visual memory, especially with names. I cannot remember the names unless having read the words. The same with numbers. With numbers, I have to rely on similar sound to help memorizing. But the best way is to utilize multiple channels, hearing, seeing, writing, to improve various memory abilities.

i have a visual memory. if i see a word written i can remember how to spell it. my son is pretty much the same. if if see someone's phone number written down i can memorize it very easily. my memory in general though is not what it used to be and i cannot always remember people's names etc. sometimes a fragrance or smell will also bring on a memory for me.

I think I have good memory. Because I never forget a person when I meet him at least once. Sometimes other person is surprised by looking at me and recognizing him. I also have a good number memory to remember different contact numbers, birthdays of different friends and relatives. I was also good in maths during my school days. I think that has helped me thinking quickly about numbers.

You definitely don't have a problem. I have seen many people like you. Generally people who has a good memory for numbers and figures usually don't remember very regular stuffs. I donno why. I do have a reasonable memory. But not with digits and numbers. When it comes to directions, it is enough that I go to a place only once. I can never forget the route any time in my life. Also, I can even remember things that had happened in my very younger age which even my mom had forgotten.

I have a pretty good memory for almost anything . . except studies (-: When it comes to studies, I read something the day before the exams, write it down in the papers and its gone by next evening !!

I was just talking about this with a friend. He told me something a few weeks back and I was asking if he remembered when he had said it. It was something he sent in an email. He couldn't remember but I remembered that I was using the computer at work when I read the mail he sent which narrowed it down to a few days last month. I could see myself sitting at the computer there... with the window open so it must have been daylight. Then I worked out which day I had worked during the afternoon rather than the evening and sure enough I got the date right! I have a very good visual memory and it comes in handy on many occasions. I hope it lasts as well as this for many years to come too.

I have good visual memory. I can remember faces, but can't remember the names. I can remember streets and if I visit one place once, I can surely go there again without problem. I can remember what I have seen and I can know if I have seen it before. My memory is really good and if I ever say I forgot, you can be very sure that I'm bluffing. bourne

I think that everyone has different things that trigger your memory. I wouldnt say that your memory is bad simply because you cant remember what you made yesterday. I am very much numbers oriented. If something involves numbers - like a phone number or the cost of an item - I will probably remember. I also find it very easy to remember anything that is done as a song. I still remember some of the songs I used 10 years ago to learn some German grammar! I think the biggest trigger of memories for me is smell. I can associate different smells with so many things. Just by smelling something I can tell you a whole story behind it! For other people this trigger might be taste or sound. Everyone is just different. As long as you know what triggers your memories, you can use that to your advantage for anything that is important!

I have a very good memory, especially with numbers. My husband is always saying to me where did I put my keys or where did I put my shoes, he can never remeber where he puts anything.LOL Both of my kids are like me too. They have memories like elephants. Sometimes my long term memeory gets fuzzy, I ran in to a girlfriend about a month ago and she was asking me if I remembered something we did when we where children and I couldn't remember for the life of me. But put a number in front of me and I have it:p
