Most valuable player on team

I think the mvp is derek jeter cause he is always focused on the goal(winning the world series), he is super talented, great short-stop and great hitter. Plus, he is super hot! lol

I have to say Derek Jeter. It's a hands down, Jeter. His career would speak for itself. A lot of memorable moments. At his age, he is still one of the best shortstops out there. I might be wrong, but the level of his game is way superior than some young ones in baseball. He's my favorite!

I know I am a little late responding to this discussion, but there just aren't too many Yankees discussions out there. That's how I found this one. I guess there aren't a lot of sports fans here on myLot. Plus, the fact that there are a lot of people on here from other countries, makes it so even the sports fans that are here, are probably discussing a variety of different sports and teams. I would almost have to say Andy Pettitte might be the most valuable Yankees player this year. I have been very impressed with him ever since I seen the Yankees and Boston play in person. I really have a hard time keeping up with more than one team, but he is a player that just kind of sticks out. He has a pretty good record this year, and I hope he can keep up the good work all the way throughout the post season. So who's your pick? Do you have a favorite player for the Yankees that just stands out above the rest? Please share.

Is hard to say which player is the most valuable player on the team. It could be Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, CC Sabathia or Mark Teixeira.

Derek Jeter without question. He has great statistics especially in key situations, good defensive skills, and an amazing ability to always be in the right place at the right time. Anyone who says he is over rated has not seen the on the field plays that he makes that are not recorded statistically. Not to mention, he is a team player and is never selfish.

I think it is Derek Jeter, just because this team would not be where they are without him, he is the most clutch player on the yankees and maybe in all of baseball. Jeter should be the AL mvp with no doubt. He is probably the most consistant player in the MLB.

Texiera is the most valuable, the real difference between first and a close race. I like Arod and an argument can be made, but hey... Tex gets my vote.

i would actually have to say nick swisher. all though he is not the most talented nor one of the highest paid players i haven't seen a yankee squad have this much fun in a very long time.
