Does Your Cat Chase It's Tail?

Of the four cats I’ve had in my life they’ve all had their own quirky personalities. My current cake takes the cake though. He’s 3 years old and plays with his own tail! I’ve had cats that have played with many unusual things but ne4ver their own tales. He has a white tip at the end of his tail and he’ll sit there and watch his tail then go for it falling over and doing summersaults. I’ve heard of dogs chasing their tails but never cats. Have you ever had a cat that chased its own tail? Is this common for cats and I’ve just never heard of it?

well I have one cat and he also keeps playing with his tail, its very funny to watch though and pretty cute to me. I think he just like how his tail moves and the white tip as you mentioned, maybe he thinks what is this white thingy over my tail so keeps on chasing it. But we don't really know for sure the reason though, we're not cats hehehehhe. But it sure is funny! :D

May be it's a white tip thing for these cats. :)

My Doctor cat started chasing his tail again when he was about 7. then we took in a grown cat who stalked and frequently bit - HARD - his own tail, but we suspected he had some nerve damage in it because it always took about a second before he reacted to bitting it.

Well its very common for a boy to play with his tail. I myself, chased my tail all around the country until I was married and my tail went to bed with me every night. Its really common and quite natural. Personally I Love Tail, and often think of the pleasure I had chasing and catching my tail in some of the most unusual places.
