Metallica = Best Band Ever?

yes probably, bu sadly there are not alot of heavy metal fans as there used to be. where are the days when AC/DC had their beards and Metallica was worshipped (well not excatly worshipped lol) how I would love for metallica to come down to New Zealsnd to preform, man I will like be the first person to buy tickets!

I agree that metallica is a hell of a beastly band, but the best band ever....? i dont know about that one. some of there songs do tend to get old and most of there music sounds the same. i am a fan but not their biggest one.

You gotta be a little more specific if you want to make the claim that Metallica are pioneers. They are certainly not the pioneers of Hard Rock or Metal for that matter because of so many other bands who have come before them....been there and done that, so to speak. As far as them being the best band ever...that's a purely opinion-based discussion. It's all going to depend on what you base the discussion on: record sales, longevity, number 1 hits, etc. Are they the best band ever? Not in my opinion. There are plenty of other hard rock/metal bands that have come before them and some are still around in some capacity, that I would consider to be better if not the best. KISS, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and AC/DC are just a few of many bands who came before Metallica and who have made bigger marks on the hard rock/heavy metal scene. I would say Metallica is definitely among the best, especially currently, but not THE BEST. But, that's my opinion.

Uhm.. in their class.. YES!!! So many bands now, must hear metallica first to be famous... to enter the studio.. Yeah.. Metallica is the BEST! no doubt bout it!

I don't believe that there is a best band ever. Everyone will always like something different, and to each person, the best band ever will be something different. Case in point, the band that I like the best is the Smashing Pumpkins, but there are probably people out there that will probably say they suck, and they're entitled to their opinion, as long as they don't launch personal attacks because of it.
