is music an art?

I think "art" describes anything where people express feeling, emotion, opinion or otherwise express themselves. Therefore, yes, music is most definitely an art. But art is very subject to individual interpretation. I think everyone's "art" is different, and while some is enjoyed by many, some is also only enjoyed by the artist themselves. Music is an amazing art, though. I could not live without it in my life even though I don't actually play any music myself.

Music is an inspiration to the inner soul and someone who appreciate music is someone whi is appreciating an art because even listening to music is an art.

Yes music is certainly an art, from someone who doesn't have a musical bone in her body but helps to promote several bands here in Australia I really do appreciate the music the boys make and how much passion they put into the music, music is wonderful.
