I think it's better for the child to avoid drinking coffee. As Coffee contains coffin and children haven't grown yet. It seems it will be harmful for them. I remember when I was a child, I ever drank a little coffee. And at that night I was awake. Perhaps the coffee had an effect on me. I love China

How old is the child we are talking about? My gut response is small amounts will not hurt him but I would not recommend that you allow him or her to drink it every day and in large amounts. Coffee is caffeine and that can stunt their growth

I would hav to say no, there are plenty of healthy drinks your son can have without resorting to coffee. If he really does get upset when seeing you drink it then dont drink it infront of him wait until he is in bed or you are not with him.

A little taste now and then won't hurt an eleven-year-old. It is like soda, though, in the sense that it is not the right kind of nutrition for a growing child. They call it "empty calories" which can make a child full and not hungry for the healthy things. If and when he does drink coffee, mix it with quite a bit of low-fat milk, and then he is getting nutrition with it. Growing children should have 3-4 glasses of milk (or soy milk if they do not tolerate cow's milk). This includes teenagers. It is good for their teeth and bones! For a younger child, the acid and the caffeine in coffee can be hard on their tummy and too stimulating.

Coffe isn't recommanded for children, but it seems that if it is in a small quantity you can give some coffe to your son. Another ideea is to try giving him coffer without caffeine. As far as I know it is a little bit more expensive than the normal one. This kind of coffe has the same good taste and it is healthy.

I dont think that children of any age should be drinking coffee to be honest with you...they just dont need the caffine and there really isnt anything of nutritional value in it...I have two teens and they still arent allowed to drink coffee... As for you NOT drinking it becuase he was envious...I'm sorry but that just makes no sense to me at all...Children need to learn that there are some things for grown ups and they can't have/do/see etc those things..I smoke, drink and drink coffee but I'm a grown woman..My kids learned that because I am an adult I am allow to do certain things that they arent becuse they are children...

I wouls say a sip here and there isn't going to hurt him. I don't see the fascination that teens have with coffee. If your son is little, then I wouldn't encourage it.

It will not hurt him, but it's better not to drink coffee at all - that goes for all people! Caffein is not god for the body and I doubt that decaf is any better... I would let him drink coffe occationaly but with some milk so it's better for the stomache
