i think a few hours is better, that way, you would get or understnad better about what you're reading. of course im talking about novels. Text books are a different thing. I dont like to read them, i only do when i really have to study, but since college is now over for me, I only read my favorite novels. You just have to pick a genre or topic that you like best. Overtime, you will develop an author's style that might become your favorite. So just keep reading. reading for me is like watching films, ..it brings me to another world. i dont want to get interrupted by just a few minutes.

Reading is a good habit.. it is a sort of exercise for the eyes, (provided there is good lighting) and for the mind.. some people read for pleasure, time pass. some read for exams.. you rather call that STUDYING.. It is better than playing in the computer, cos in the latter your eyes undergo a lot of stress.. I love reading books about science, and ya, I read novels, thriller and suspense.. I Study for my exams, I read for knowledge..

any minutes spent reading is not a waste of time and better than no minutes reading
I've got a book going at my client's place & I picked up some more books yesterday at Goodwill, she has more time to read -since she lays in bed doing that while I work, but they sounded interesting even if I never get around to reading them

They say it is beneficial to exercise your body everyday. Reading is like exercising your mind. I think we should read something everyday. That's not too difficult if you think about it. I read magazines, enjoy books (usually for information), newspapers, cards, music and on the internet! You are reading this response right now!!
However, I think it is very good to set aside a time to read each day. I read mostly for information in the areas I enjoy! I am a real reader. I am almost always in the middle of reading at least one book. I would say to set a particular time and length of time you desire to read and place it in your schedule and do it!

I love reading, but I don't always have time. I try to read a little before I go to bed each night. I'm a big fan of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Jules Verne. If you want to start reading more, find a book series or genre that you like. Then you won't want to stop reading!

I make best effort to read every day. It could be anything, half an hour and it feels much refreshed. I think reading is a habit and we can still do internet and read!
Good discussion!

I'm not a reader at all. I just do not have the time for it either. I am not sure how busy your schedule is but you may be able to take an hour out of the day, just for reading.

I work until dinner time each day on the computer then I usually turn it off. The evening belongs to me to do as I like-gardening, reading, whatever. I go to bed at a time that allows me an hour to read, or more if I can't sleep. You have to schedule your time. You can't sit at the computer thinking you'll earn just one more penny, you have to make time for yourself or your family or whatever other interests you have.

I do not read everyday, I usually pick up a book to read a couple of nights a week, and i usually read for about a hour or so. if i have trouble falling asleep i will pick up a book and read because it usually relaxes me enough for me too fall asleep.
I read a big variety of books but i would have to say that my favorites are the mystery types, and then the romance types....and i also like books that are based on a true event.
