This may sound like a stupid question but my first credit card is going to expire in October. I owe quite a bit of money on it but I make more than the minimum payment on time every month. What happens when it expires? Will they send me a new one or do I have to reapply or will they cut me off because I may still owe some money on it?

Usually they'll send you another card about 30-60 days before it expires. I'm not sure what they'll do now with this credit mess. I'm glad you're paying extra but try to make sure your extra is going toward the principle and not just the interest. Only by reducing the principle can you pay it down quicker. Don't charge anymore, I'm sure you know that, you have to get out from under that debt.

Usually the credit card company will automatically sent you another card that has a different expiration date. You will probably receive it about a month or so before the other one expires. I am not sure what kind of card you have, but with the cards I have had, a new one has always been sent out. like Visa, MC or even the department store ones. I think if you have not received a replacement card by the month before the other card expires, I would call them. The number is on the back of the credit card. Good for you paying more than the minimum!

when your credit card will be expired usually the company will send you a nwe one to your adress you specified when you subscribed your old ones!!i think this procedure is common to all major company of credit card as visa, mastercard, american express, diners and so on..so normally people have one of that in their pocket true?So i think also in your case the new credit card will be sent to you without problems!!

Yes they will send you a new one. They want to keep making money off of you so they will send out a new card. If you were wise you don't charge unless you can afford to pay that balance off or you will get in the rut that many of us become trapped in with making minimum payments and never seeing our debt go down while the banks get richer off our interest.
