Is it safe to reuse oil?

I heard that reuse of oil is not good for health, but at the same time some says it can be reused if it is done properly with careful filteration. I think it is better to reuse vegetable oil than other oils.One of my friend told that there is the possibility of mouth ulcer if we reuse any oil for cooking.

I reuse oil all the time because it's too expensive to throw out after one use. I've read that it may contribute to cancer, but that can be counteracted by eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. We can't be afraid of everything. I wonder sometimes how much of this "good for you, bad for you" stuff is just because someone wants to sell something.
