The 'points' beside the picture are you user reputation and they are the number of responses and discussions started (that received a response) that you have made.
There is no fixed rate per post here on myLot and the number no way shows your earning.

hi! the number beside your username and avatar is the number of your posts here in mylot. it consists of the number of discussions you started as well as the number of responses you made to discussions started by others.
your earnings is reflected at the top of the page beside the profile tab.

It doesn't reflect or telling your earnings. It just tell everybody about the number of post you have posted here. But it doesn't include your started discussions. When your points reach the number of 500 points, you will be able to copy and paste to the writing form. It's useful if you prefer to type the post on another word processor before paste it to here.
