A couple of weeks ago I went with my sisters to the Minnesota Historical Museum...I hadn't been there since we took our trip in sixth grade! So much has changed and so much has been added. I learn more about Minnesota there in two hours then I had ever learned! They have a special display of the 150 years Minnesota has been a state. For the amount of money we spent to tour the museum it was well worth every penny. I heard songs from Prince.....and other musicians that started here...I saw the history of some companies like Hormel. And I didn't realize so much technology started right here in my home state. So when was the last time you went to a museum? Did you learn alot?

Believe the last time I visited a museum was years ago when I was in school. We visited the Art Museum in St. Louis. It's located in Forest Park which is a huge park that is also home to the Zoo and the Opera. Don't remember much since my attention span was about 2 minutes long way back in time.

The most recent of my visit to a museum is a year ago. It was last year after graduation from university, i went there with a few friends for an activity at there. It was at Sg.Lembing, Pahang, Malaysia. Actually it's a local museum which displayed the history and the mining process at that place. Sg. Lembing is one of the famous place for tin mining once in the history, but not now anymore. The museum is full of the mining tools and model of the mining process. It clearly displayed the step-by-step how the tin is mined and processed. The museum is free entrance we it's air-conditioned. Visitors can just take their time and stay as long as they wish. Although it's just a small place, it actually attracts more and more tourist to visit there and becoming one of the place of interest in Malaysia.

Last month my daughter and I went to the Air and Space museum and it was so crowded we could barely get to see anything. So,we left and decided that we would go back another day. But,before that we went to the Native American Museum and saw a lot of great stuff and learned a lot.My daughter did a weaving craft and I looked at some books in the library in there. We had fun there. The month before we went to the National American Museum,The White House Museum and an arts and crafts museum.

It's been quite some time since I've been to a museum. I'm guessing about 25+ years. It was at the old Steinhart Aquarium (AKA the California Academy of Sciences, I believe).
One thing I remember seeing was "Sandy" a Great White Shark that had been put into captivity. My family and I went there everyday until she was finally released back into the wild. Poor thing was miserable there.
You can read more about it here at this link: http://oceanlink.island.net/biodiversity/shark/shark.html
Be sure to scroll down to "A Shark in Captivity".

Hey, I love your place, although I haven't been there. I learned about your place Minnesota when I was addicted to Mighty Ducks trilogy movies. The location of the movie was Mineapolis Minnesota. Okay enough of the trivia about me. I remember my last visited a museum was when I was in college, I remember I was third year. We have a subject Rizal and visiting a museum was compulsory, it was part of the subject so we went to National Museum here in the Philippines. We even visited Cathedral in Manila, it is a old spanish church here in our country.

Hi :)
Since I am an art student, we usually visit art museums besides those museums are only near our school :) Besides that the entrance fee is cheap, you still have unlimited time to roam around and appreciate the artworks :) When my mom learned that I'm appreciative of arts she gave me a book entitled "100 Best Museums of the World" and how I wish to visit other great art museums like Louvre :)

Its been a few years since we've gone to a museum.
When our three older kids were young we went all the time to the science museum and to the childrens museum. Before they moved the childrens museum from bandana square to downtown st. paul we went about once a month, but after they moved we didn't go as much because of the traffic.
We have another little one now, plus a granddaughter, so I'm sure we'll be hitting the museums, etc... again before long.
I've never been to the MN historical museum, but it sounds interesting so maybe we'll add it to our list.

The last time I visited a museum was when I was in first year college and that was 7 years ago. Since then I never had the chance to visit another museum. I have already visited some museums here in Philippines but I still wanted to visit those in the provinces because I know they are also rich in cultural heritage. I also wish to visit the museums in abroad especially the Smithsonian museum which is the shooting place for the movie Night at the Museum 2. I have watched the first movie and I loved it. I always learn a lot from museums and I feel an eerie feeling because in one way of another I become part of the past and the rich culture of it. I love museums and I wish to show them to my son when he grows up so that he will learn a lot and he will appreciate more in this life.

Hello jillhill!!!
I am from Nepal. Nepal is a country that is very rich in the cultural heritages. It's been very long time that I haven't visit any museum here. I think it was about more than six months ago that I had visited the museum. Well it was the Patan Musueam that is located in Patan Durbar Square. Patan Durbar Square is one of the most famous place in Nepal for the tourists. A lot has changed with the time. This museum was the ancient palace area. Before the country Nepal got named or unified, there were many small states and each state had their own king. And Patan is also the one. And the museaum is the ancient palace. Inside, there are lot of stuffs to watch. The most interesting thing for me inside that museaum were the pictures of the ancient times. Most of them were painted as there were no means of camera those days. Also there were some old black and white photos of old times too. Beside these, the museum itself was very valuable as it was the ancient palace....
But more than this I am wishing to visit Naranhiti Royal Palace now. The one which had been the palace for all the kings of Nepal and no one were allowed to enter. The king got defied some one and half year ago. And now, the palace has been turned into museum. I am really interested to go inside this most historically important palace or meseum. I will surely visit this one in the coming future....
Museum always has the many important things. And surely we learn many things from them....
Happy mylotting...

Hi jillhill!
YOur topic has triggered my love for historical things again!
Infact a few days back i was planning to make my trip to the museum.
I 'm from India and the last time i visited a museum was in ninth grade .
There was a lot to learn about the Mughal dynasty in India and about the Nizam rule as i had visited the museum in Hyderabad city.
It was an amazing experience.
It take you back to those good old days when people would own arms which were embellished with jewels and clothes and house wares made from precious metals like gold ,silver and precious gems.
The glittering golden era is a must watch through the glasses of the museum.
I'll surely make a visit to the Museum here in Mumbai this weekend!
ITs a feeling of pride and heritage when you visit such places.
Thanks for bringing in this topic!
I really can't wait to visit it now!
Happy Mylotting!

hi! the last time i visited a local museum in my country was september of last year. i had a guest from washington dc who was looking for places to visit in davao city. we went to a very small museum where a large portion of items there are donated or personal belongings of prominent families in the area. i've learned about the numerous tribes that existed before. i didn't even know there was a museum there during the 6 years i lived in the area before. hehehe
and my last visit to a museum was march this year. while we were travelling in hongkong, we stopped by hongkong's space museum in kowloon island. it's fascinating for kids because i brought my nephew and nieces with me together with my mom and 2 more family members.
both times were both first times in those museums so it was kinda fun. :)

The last time I ever visit a museum was three years ago. There's an exhibit on ghost or something. I am not a fan of museum so I don't enjoy much. My sister did. Everything fascinated her. I guess it's a good way for education. So I walked down the aisle while she kept reading information and look at display. The one that learn the most will definitely be her
