Do you tend to keep writing on and on without any real reason?

Ahoy Mateys!
I'm an academic writer at a site called Custom Paper Point. (If you want to signup, the procedure is different.) I'm highly passionate about my writing and may be that's the reason why I usually go far beyond the stipulated page length; and find it extremely difficult to adhere to the page number thresholds. I've begged numerous times with the owner of CPP, allowing me to go beyond! May be I have this habit of making a mountain of a mole hill, that keeps me on! I say this because, I do not necessarily include loads of valuable content in my write-ups. It's just that I keep elaborating even the simplest of things; things which even a toddler would understand! So naturally, I also feel such a restriction of page or word limit restricts my creativity. (if any)
Enough now of my self-whining, tell me if you too have a similar obsession of writing lengthy articles; or do you prefer it short and precise?
(Btw, I could've also gone on n on with this topic, but since I wanted y'all to stay awake and respond, I've managed to curb the length to an extent. Sigh!)

I love writing too that is one of the reasons why I am here…mylot gives me an opportunity to write constructively on any subject that catches my fancy. I don’t write lengthy unnecessarily…it was something we were taught in school, to make our responses precise and concise. However, if there is something to be written, then that has to be done and I enjoy it immensely.

Indeed myLot does give the opportunity and as I see from other discussions, there are many people who are here to sharpen their writing prowess.
But I do confess I tend to write unnecessary lengths at times. Wish I could learn from someone like you. :-P Btw, I've read a few of your posts and I must say you are quite a talented writer! :-)
Glad to know that you enjoy writing. And so do I!
Thanks for the response.

I believe that it depends on what I am writing about. I think that I do this in conversations sometimes too. It seems that I carry on a long conversation about something that I could have said in just a few words. I think that it is good to do though sometimes.
I haven't ever heard of the site Custom Paper Point. Do they pay you? If so, what do you write about? I am just starting with some writing sites and I am enjoying it.

You seem to know what you want and will go to great lengths to get it. I don't know what I want and for me to be called passionate is something of a misnomer because I am aloof to everything. I will do anything but not be carried away. Cheers!!

Lol that's a great quality! Indeed you should never get carried away. Irrespective of what is apparent from this discussion, I'd say that even I never get carried away. I'm always firm on my ground. It's just that it's quite a while since I've started writing and have noticed that I'm susceptible to the length! That's why I was thinking may be I'm suitable to a genre of writing which focuses more on the length instead of the substance. It all ends over here. I can never claim to be any great writer of any sorts. Why go far, I know for a fact that even myLot has got scores of writers, far better than me.
Thanks for the response!
