Honestly, if I'm not mistaken it was a month ago that I said a sincere i love you to my dad. The sad thing is I can't remember if when was the last time that I said a sincere i love you to my mom. When I was still a kid, I frequently say i love you to my parents before I go to sleep but eventually I didn't practice that already when my own bedroom was done. Right now that I am nineteen, I find it awkward to say a sincere i love you to my parents although I am aware that it is not a good thing to feel this way. I would prefer to say i love you to them through text than in person. Open communication in a family really matters.

I try to do that everyday but due to the living situation, I don't get to see my mother everyday... One of my regrets I have is not being able to do that with my father before he passed away so I try to remember & try to do it as often as possible with my mother... Last time I've set down with my mother & told her I loved her was about a week ago... Of course I told her that yesterday because it was mother's day but I'm talking about telling her that on regular day basis, not for some special day...

Oh, I'm so guilty I can't remember when I spoke "I love you" to my parents. You know it's not an accustomed behavor in China. Chinese are shy to say "I love you" or similar sentence to their parents. Of course this situation has been changed gradually. I've seen more and more children begin to say "I love you" to their parents. But... I'm still shy just because I've been an adult.

Hi tracydee, nice to meet you. Yes, I agree with you about the importance of maintaining good relations in the family. Feel more action than words. Maybe all you people with the same. Difficult to say "I love you Dad / Mom" after adults. I never heard the words of the wife or my children, but I feel that they are loved me. Useless said "I love you" a thousand times, if only pretend. That's right Tracy?
