Some of the restaurant provides comment sheet for the customers to leave comments, do you do that usually? I went to a Chinese restaurant for lunch with my friend yesterday, I ordered pepper steak, cragoon and pork fried rice and a hot & soup. My friend had terrayaki beef and chicken finger with rice. The good thing that I wanted to say is their food was very hot, freshly cooked! The reason why I'm saying that is because some of the Chinese restaurant around here always provide cold ~ warm food that I really dislike.
Unfortunately, they don't have those comment sheet and it seemed like they don't speak English very well so I didn't say anything.
Do you do that too? Thanks for sharing! :-)

I wish that all restuarants had comment sheets, I have been to a few that does. And I always fill one out, because it not only helps the restaurant but they can approve in the areas they need to and then you get the best service possible.

Yes!Provided, there is a comment sheet,I will fill it up without any hesitation. We can praise them for the good things which will be a boost for them and at the same time,we can pin point some minor faults which they are unaware. That will really help them. After all, reviews make things perfect.Cheers!

Yes, I think so, it will be good for them to improve their food quality and services when they do check the comments. Thanks for responding! :-)

@ MERMAIDIVY:
Not only do they need suggestions... But they would also need good stuff said about them, if one has sincerely enjoyed his or her dining experience at a particular restaurant. This will definitely inspire them to be better in what they're doing :)

I usually don't write comment there at all, but I would like to do for some restaurant. Last time, one of this place is too rude to customers, but their food are good. I usually tipping them a lot to most places but this one, I gave only $2 only. this $2 is more than I thought too.
This guy is just mean... I hate it but I like the food :)

I have seen those comment sheets and we have never done the comment thing. although there have been times when we should have but never really thought about it.... we have had either really good service or really really bad service... and yet we never thought of making a comment about it.. but when the managers come around and ask how things are we always tell them... so at least we have said things when it really needed to be said.
HAPPY MYLOTTING!!

yes i write comments of any restaurants that i go if they offer it..
i can give you a recent example in my life....i went to a restaurant named Bombay blues near my town there when i went first time i saw waiters wearing informal dresses and even it was a good and expensive restaurant after eating they offered me the suggestion receipt.. i commented upon the waiters dresses and suggested them to wear some western formal dress...
the next time i went there within a week there was a change in all the dresses of the waiters i felt proud of the change i had brought in that restaurant

Hi mermaidivy I agree with you. It's those restaurants which are serious about providing good service that they put in effort to design and prepare the feedback forms for their customers. But having said that there are some restaurants that solicit feedbacks from customers but are not interested to improve their service, and so their service standard has little improvement over time. Food that are served cold, tasteless or overwhelmed with taste (too sweet or salty) are very disgusting to me and I will never step into the restaurant ever again.

Yes, if those are disgusting like that, I would probably write down the comments and never go back again. Thanks for sharing! :-)

Some good restaurants and good companies do get consumer/customer response to get get their feedback in order to improve the quality of their services/products. As mentioned in your note it is only good companies who seek their customers responses and not the bad ones as indicated in your discussion. In the light of their customers responses they try to improce their services/products. It is therefore always advisable to write comments no the comment sheet.

Unfortunately, I haven't been to a restaurant. I remember my last restaurant visit was when my cousin got married, the reception were held in the restaurant. Sad that there are no papers for us to fill up as a we can leave some comments or suggestions. I mostly patrionize fast food chain to be honest.

Hello mermaidivy,
I don't leave a comment whenever I dine outside. It is very rare occasion for me. But, if I dislike the restaurant for some reasons - unbearable food, cleanliness or rude waiter, I just look for the manager and complain verbally. I won't come back for the second time. Well, if the restaurant is good, I have nothing to comment and to show how much I like to dine there, I will come as often as I could

Sometimes I feel like I could write comments to tell them about the eservices, if they improve it better, I wouild go again. But sometimes I think they don't derserve even negative comments if they have really poor services and food. Thanks for sharing! :-)

We don't have any comment sheets either. Though some do have the lil survey you can take calling their tollfree # but those are usually Burger Kings around here any ways.
I"m glad you finally got your meal "hot", I hate it when it's luke warm to cold. It's like you got someone elses rejected food or whatever ya know? Or atleast I'd wonder was it sitting around that long that it had gotten cold before you ordered it?

Hello mermaidivy as a matter of fact I always leave comments if a card is provided for the customers. The employees probably think oh no not her again! I also write restaurant reviews when I try out a new place or some place that didn't meet my expectations.

Hi mermaidivy
Honest, I very rarely write a comment or opinion on the restaurant. Because I rarely eat at restaurant. If my family have a plan to eat at the restaurant, one of the main conditions must be comfortable, delicious or have received recommendations from friends or family. Unless the services are really bad and disappointing then I immediately give some advice and write at comment sheet how bad their services.

Most of the time I don't fill them out, on occasion I do, usually it's about something negative, bad service, wrong order, attitude of host/hostess. If the service is really good and/or the food seems to be better that day, I put those on there. I have had bad service, but the waiter/waitress making an apology for either the food, or a mistake makes all the difference when it's sincere. My order may have been late and wrong, but the waitress apologized and gave me free desert after correcting the order it was like a magic band-aid.
