Well I have always been over weight but not extreme. I tried to get liposuction but I am not that overweight the doctor told me. I cut soda and juice from my diet and have been drinking water for the last 3 weeks but now I think I am retaining the water and I feel like I am never getting anywhere. I am not the lazy type I know what I have to do is excerise more but it seems like it never works for me. My birthday is coming up next month so I am trying to lose at least 10 pounds. Any suggestions?

If you do aerobics, it will get your heart rate up and burn more fat. You can exercise in daily life, instead of taking the elevator, take the stairs. If you go shopping, don't look for a close space, park further away. If you are near stored, walk there to pick up a few things instead of driving. Try renting an aerobics video from the video store. It sounds like you are on the right track, keep drinking the water, I believe it's about half a gallon a day that your body needs, if you don't drink enough, your body will retain it.

Sounds like you are drinking enough, don't weigh yourself too much, if you are on a scale twice a day, it will be discouraging to see that you weigh the same. Give it a few days between scale times, maybe even a week. Do you have a boyfriend? (not hitting on you, but taking a walk together through the park would work well too) It's different when you walk with someone because you start talking and lose track of how far you walked, it takes you mind off of things.

Excerise is my hardest part because of my work hours. So I do try in daily life to do more. I work on the second floor so I do take the stairs. Also, my house has stairs so I will try to go up and down a couple times before bed. I get discouraged every time I do a video because it seems like I am not doing it correctly but that is my next step. I have been drinking about 9-10 20oz bottles of water but I think because of my "monthly" friend that is why I am retaining the water.

Yup,some people is easy to get weight.I think loosing weight is really very hard.I always try to loose weight.I go to the fitness to do excerises 3 or 4 times a week. And that can keep me the current weight but can not loose weight.Sometimes I feel tired to do so much physical exercises.Anyway, sports is a good way to loose weight. Also,it is good for health Control eating is also necessary.Just don't eat too much and eat simple food like vegetables, fruit, fish, shrimp and thin meat.Don't eat a little so that we have no power to do work.

I told you my story. When I were a freshman,I were 74kg.At that time,I were so depressed because no guys like me.I decided to loose weight.I did physical exercises every day and ate less. After two years,I got 55kg. I think it is really hard to loose weight, but if you hold on,you can get what you want.

I feel like I never lose weight and always gain. I am not the healthiest person but I try to stay active a little bit and eat. I don't eat a lot of fast food. I have been drinking more water than normal. I love veggies and fish actually so I guess time and patience is the key too.

well, I have the same problem. I try to do everything healthy, but my weight just stays there all the time. It is pretty depressing, because I want to have at least a small result. If you will find any solution, could you please share it with me as well?

have you tried detoxing? there are some great detox remedies out there that don't require starvation especially if you think you are retaining water. Also, it could be a stress factor, worrying about weight loss and just life in general can cause you to hold water. You may also be losing inches as opposed to weight? have you taken your measurements? how often do you work out? You may need to keep a weight loss journal and include your thoughts and what you've eaten, times you eat etc. It sounds tedious but well worth it - good luck

My first suggestion is to rethink your goal. I dont say that to be mean, but 10 pounds is a lot of weight for 1 month. The goal should be to lose fat, not just 'weight'. If you feel like you are retaining water, pay attention to your sodium (salt) intake. Consuming a lot of salt will cause you to retain water. Try reducing that. If that doesnt help, I would suggest talking to your doctor. You are definitely on the right track! The key is to take it one small step at a time. Now that you are in the habit of drinking water, focus on your sodium. Once you get that under control, focus on getting enough fiber each day. Then pick something else. (I suggested fiber next because it will help you feel full for longer. Many of the foods full of fiber are also lower in calories. It helps in so many ways!) Dont give up. Keep working at it. It is a frustrating journey, but you will be much happier in the end for sticking with it. You have already started, that is the hardest part.

I know sodium as a lot to do with that as well but I usually watch out for that stuff. I always try to take small steps. I know some people try to fast for 7 or 10 days and I think that is stupid because your body is not use to that and when you start eating again it backfires. So I started drinking a lot more water and changing my eating habits. Now I am trying to get into an excerise program to keep me being active. Thanks for the advice about teh fiber and motivation!

One of the things that really helped me was www.sparkpeople.com. It is a completely free website. They have tons of great advice about everything! There is an exercise tracker and a calorie tracker. There are articles about just about everything to help answer your questions. There are different 'teams' that you can join to help you stay motivated and help answer questions. There are even exercise tips and links to a youtube channel for free exercise videos! Like I said, it sounds like you are doing this the smart way. Keep at it, and you will be thankful!

HELLO Weight Loss MyLotters! I have a proposition - that may or may not work in MyLot but it has potential. I was gonna start a new discussion regarding this but I think it's a waste of time and space when everyone just wants to start their own discussions to make extra $$ so the quality goes down. Anyways - we should start a group about weight loss. Why? For accountability. I've successfully lost some weight, but getting discourage is so easy! What do you say? Please spread the word.

See - the problem with losing weight is that we all lose sight of why we want to lose weight from time to time. The idea with the group is that it will keep us accountable - and make sure that we stick to it. Ideally - we'd post our existing weight and target weight - and how we're going about losing it. The everyday (or every other day) we'd update each other on what's going on. I think a new discussion and group of committed people would be what i'm looking for. Commitment is key!

I think you need to cut down on salt because it has the ability to hold water that causes some belly around our waist even we try to cut down on some sodas. I also suggest that you eat more fruits and vegetables and fiber. During breakfast you can have oatmeal and coupled with aerobic and strengthening exercises to tighten up your abs. If you like to lose weight you may also contact me, there is an herbal supplement that will help you lose weight very safely, still complete with all the nutrients that your body needs. And also, without starving yourself.

I am taking baby steps. Before I use to eat one big meal a day now I broke it up to snacking. For breakfast I have yogurt and whole wheat bread. I usually snack on fruit in the afternoon and have a progresso soup. I try to drink about 9 20oz bottles of water a day and then some fish in the evening. Slowly I will start adding the excerising in. I have been trying to find some herbal supplements to help with the weight lost as well.

Like you said, water retention is the first sight of weight loss, I would say stick to strenuous exercise (not the path of least resistance) first for at least 20 days because results do not come overnight and 20 days in no time for your body to plateau if you stick to strength training first. Their is strength training that doesn't involve just barbells and plenty of resources online and even websites you can track your workout regimens with others to compare notes, keep food diary (see how the small stuff adds up), and post pictures. It took me forever to realize that gathering inspiration from others efforts and working along beside someone is much more effective than going it alone. Maybe alone you would not recognize the suddle changes of weight loss as if you had another someone elses perspective.

There is nothing surprising to one complaining of not getting the desired results after being there in the Weight Loss programme for six months or a year but not getting the expected results and thus asking “Why I am not losing my weight?” Possibly after a seemingly rigorous exercise during the course he sees no change it would surely make him worried. On the way you might have gone for dieting too but with no avail and now you are asking a valid question “ Why this with me”? Such programmes are really beneficial for some people but in most cases what has been observed that it recurs. This could be so for you never were keen on your prescribed diet but for your relief, over 70% of the world population is experiencing same problem. As you feel more worried, the first thing for you would be to go to a competent doctor to make it sure that you are out the danger of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Once you are assured that you are not having that and you are more or less healthy and got a mental boosting that there are many others suffering like you too, there is the time you approached an Expert or if you had done so must think why could not remain committed to follow the expert’s advice. It is true that fat helps to a certain degree but not all the while. You need to focus on exercise and a planned diet. But if you do not make a good combination of the both it would just not work. As for food you should put hands on only on that which suits your digestive system. Or you better try the one that worked on you earlier. But now there must be more fruits and vegetables in your diet. You could keep on changing the combination until you know that works much better for you. A scheduled and balanced food could bring you the desired fruit. What is desired of you is that you remain on the foods that contain low fats. Such one is skimmed milk. Fish or chicken also could be taken for they contain less protein. Other varieties of food that contain more proteins are nut and beans. Changing in them is better for if one contains low the other ore proteins. If you are on a strict diet avoid eating chocolates and all sorts of junk food. They doo more harm than anything else, If there are no buyer of chocolates and, sweets, snake bar that is far good for you. Family members could help you a lot on this. Most people gain weight unknowingly from eating things in the snack bar. If you keep yourself off, there is a chance that you would improve on your target. This article is especially helpful for you since you could be on wrong diet and sometime try to get rid of the scheduled exercise and food. This is basically a wrong diet plan that ruins your weight loss mission. Besides you could keep some articles for exercise inside your room. Cardiovascular exercise is good in losing weight and burning unwanted calories. This entire activity creates a metabolism in you and even if you are not doing exercise you would be cutting on your fats.

I think that you should cut down on the meat, try not to eat any thing after 6pm, the latest you should start to have dinner is about 5:30pm no earlyer and no later and that's it for the evening; the only exception is if you are thirsty you can have some water. you can drink lots of grapefruit juice. For breakfast instead of hot mailk drinks have some herb tea like mint, chamomile, ginger or spice with tuner, sardines or cut fish sancwitch stop snacking or eating between meals when you are thirsty you can have some water or grapefruit juice nothing else. Do not eat any thing until lunch time, when or dinner time, make sure and have only three square meals which is breakfast lunch and dinner and that's it, drink some water when you're thirsty and continue exercising.

I don't think eating after a certain time makes sense. because my work schedule is from 11-7. Usually I don't try to have anything to eat past a 8 if it heavy but I don't think it makes a big difference since I don't go to bed until around 12 anyway. I actually cut all liquids out except for water.

Good for you! Dropping sodas is one of the best ways to drop pounds (and to prevent pounds from coming back)! I would also suggest beefing up on those fruits and veggies--I know people have said it a million times, but it really does help! Your local farmer's market will have lots of healthy options for you, and should be cheaper than the grocery store. As for exercising, my mom does pilates and yoga. If you're not into stretching and meditating, then I would suggest dancing. I've started learning dance steps from the internet (from websites like youtube). That way, you can enjoy your workout and maybe even improve your coordination while you're at it! Good luck on your goal and even if you don't make it, you're well on your way to becoming healthier!
