I was just wondering, how old is the house/flat/apartment etc that you live in? Is it a really old house (say several hundred eyars old), or fairly old say built 50-100 years ago, or it is farily new ie built in the last 20 years, or maybe brand spanking new? I'm just being nosey i guess. My house was built in the 1950's, about 1953, so just over 50 years old. We have been able to make the living room quite modern, and will hopefully do the same with the rest of the house once we get round to it!

This apartment building we're living in is probably about 30 years old. Maybe 40 or 50, not sure, but atleast 30. It doesn't have a lot of modern features, no elevator, old wiring, a section built into the wall for a wlld-burning stove, and probably needs some upgrades according to the modern building code (there is only ONE way to get out of this basement apartment we live in, so we'd better pray the kitchen doesn't start on fire in the middle of the night). I remember this building being next to Harvey's restaurant, all my life, and now I live in here.
