I'm curious why some have strong feelings against Obama.

He is the president and all presidents have supporters and non supporters, but I have not seen anything about Obama that would constitute the negativity I hear about him. Am I missing something, is it because he promised change and we haven't had that change yet? I need some solid facts so I can have both sides of the story.

He promised that before he did anything he would give us time to see it and read it. When he proposed the stimulus bill, he gave the Congress 12 hours (over night) to read it and then they were to pass it in the morning which they did. He prommised that he would not ok anything with earmarks. The stimulus bill hass more earmarks than anything else. He is going to have our kids do 3 years of volunteer work for the gov. I saw the video of what they are doing during training. It is right out of Hitler's brownshirts training. They chant his glory and all the things he supposedly has done for the country. They chant this over and over adnausium. It is frightening. It was on Utube. I do not know if they have pulled it yet. He has Nationalized our banks even though he said he wouldn't. That is communism. He has Nationalized some of the car companies. Communism. He even fired one of the CEOs. Congress keep passing bills that take away our freedoms with Obama's signiture. There are bills in committee right now that are frightening. Napolitano has a list of people that she considers potential terrorists that contains most of the good folks in this nation. Obama is her boss. Shalom~Adoniah

He has not nationalized the banks, he has not nationalized the car companies. Where is the information on this camp for our youth, (you tube is not always a reliable source) Which freedoms specifically have been taken away?

"He has not nationalized the banks" Citibank is nationalized. They are now asking his permission before paying bonuses to employees. If the president is the one calling the shots, I'm calling it nationalized. "he has not nationalized the car companies" He fired the CEO of GM. If he has the power to fire the head of a car company, he runs it and as such, it is nationalized. He's also making decisions on what cars they will produce and the government is backing the warranties of GM and Chrysler. Trust me, you can color it any way you like, but it's still nationalized.

When the government has bought out the car industry and the banking industries with the billions of dollars of bailout money, then the government owns those companies so yes they are nationalized.

I would say, things will be okay if people unite and give Obama a chance to prove what he can do to his nation and to the world. Instead of criticizing him on his agenda why not help him to do his task then you'll see a change.

but it is NOT the kind of change this country needs, this man is so ayt odds with our founders principals, I do not WANT him to have the chance to prove what he can do, I alredy know what he wants to do and it is dangerous for our nation.

Ccarabuena...so we should be supportive of closing American plants and sending those jobs to other countries to help them create more job growth there....meanwhile our neighbors and who knows we ourselves may have to find new homes due to our layoffs and plant closings....Nah....I am still gonna try to only buy American. And if Obama wants support he need to support the US and stop trying to save the world. We can only help our neighbors if we are able.

I am against his very socialist agenda. He is carrying the usual Democrat big government effort even farther than any one before. His efforts at trying to make U.S. companies pay more taxes will end up driving them completely out of the U.S. and taking their jobs with them.

You answer the question in your first sentence. You have seen nothing negative about him in the liberal press. He is not god even though the press seem to want to make him one. He is saying and doing the same things Bush did but in his case there all wonderful. If it was not for the Internet, the New York Post and Channel 5 the truth would never come out. Oh sure, he's made changes. Our grand kids won't have any money in Social Security. He is making America out to be the bad guy every chance he gets. If you really want both sides keep watching MyLot and other sites that tell you whats really going on.

WOW! I knew he was doing bad but I did not realize how bad. Only 100 days and already the race card is being played.

Arkie69 just where exactly in this response did Patms1 ever mention anything even remotely related to race? Maybe you're right people only see the color of skin, even when it is not mentioned....puh-lease. Criticism is critism....what your thinking of is another "ism" that has nothing to do with this conversation. And you're right Patms1....about the debts on our grand children...but most people just think about the here and the now...which is how we got into this debt in the first place.

Some people just cannot see anything about Obama but his dark skin. That's all that is important to them. To heck with what he does or doesn't do but just look at us we now nave a black President. I'm sorry but I expect more out of my fellow Americans than that. There is only one excuse for it and that is ignorance of the facts. If Obama was trying to hide all this crap I could understand the people being deceived but he isn't. He is laying all his stupid actions right out for all to see. Art

You're wrong, Obama has brought about a lot of change but it's all been in the wrong direction. It has made our situation even worse than it was. Our government is now broke and all he wants to do is keep spending huge amounts of our money. This can only be followed by a lot higher taxes and more restrictions. To put it in simple words Obama is an idiot and has no business trying to run this country. The fact he4 has dark skin has nothing to do with it. He would still be an idiot if he was snow white or green. Bush was the very same way. All he could do is say yes to all his big money buddies that wanted something. We have good advisers both in and out of Washington but the President must be at least smart enough to listen to them. It looks like both Bush and Obama refuse to do that. Art

Who are you accusing of being wrong? I was asking a question, how can I be wrong about a question? If you are speaking to someone else in the discussion, all I see is opinions, ho can an opinion be wrong? It may not be the same as yours, but that doesn't make it wrong.

You implied Obama hasn't made any change yet but he has, all in the wrong direction. The last thing we need to do is make excuses for the man. If he isn't stopped he will bring change alright. This change we will never be able to correct and you can be sure it will cost us a bunch more of our freedoms and our money. By the time a lot of people are ready to admit this it will be too late, the damage will already be done. If Obama had cared anything for the people he is supposed to be serving he would have killed that first bail out bill and made them re-write it. Instead he couldn't wait to sign it. The man is destroying our country and anyone that can't see that needs to step back and take another long look. You "give" him all the credit you want to but know this: All he is ever going to do is "take" from you. Art

Art, (arkie69), not once have you stated a solid fact about what he's doing wrong. First you accuse me of being wrong for asking questions and now you are telling me basically he's a bad man. What makes him bad besides your opinion. I would like to form my own opinions, and there is only so much blind research one can do. I have been given several great answers with facts and subjects to check on to further my research, all you have told me is that he's not doing his job right. It's easy to point the finger with accusations, but it takes knowledge to back it up.

Where to start, I am against his stance on partial birth abortion, spreading the wealth, nationalized health care, releasing classified information, big government, higher taxes on business, higher taxes on upper class, I am against his policy and his idea of change. Not that change is bad, his change on the other hand is not going to exactly be good.

Personally from my stand point of view, I have wondered the same thing as well. Yes, I may not agree with everything he is doing, and some of the many things will never benefit me, but he has only been in office a little over 100 days now, so I think more people need to give him more time as well.

The reason I am negative about him is actually rather complex. First, there is the fact that I do not feel he is really qualified for the job. He has written a couple of books, is a lawyer, and did not even complete an entire term as a senator. There are a lot of more qualified people out there. Next, he was promising everything to everyone - even things that he is not in a position to deliver because they are outside of his authority. He is for GIANT government. He is trying to get government involved in every facet of our country and our lives. We do not need that type of government. We need a smaller more responsible government. He claimed he was against earmarks (pork) yet he has repeatedly passed legislation that is full of it. He refuses to stand firm and send things back to Congress. He claimed he wanted bipartisanship, but, he ignores the Republicans because he has enough votes to get legislation he wants passed without them AND he has taken steps to prevent them from using various techniques to delay or amend legislation that is NOT good for our country. If you read through ALL of his campaign speeches and then read through the speeches of a man named Adolph Hitler there are striking similarities. Just a coincidence or does he really think similarly? He has believes he is above the laws of our country. When our laws required him to turn in his blackberry; he twisted and ignored the rules so that he would be able to keep it even though it is a clear security risk. This required extra security measures and safe guards and cost the taxpayers more money because he can't go without his "security blanket". The head of any country should not act in a subservient manner to the head of any other country. But, when he met the leader of Saudi Arabia recently, he bowed deeply to him and no bow was returned (the way it would have been in Japan where it is only a form of greeting between equals). He has also been deferring to other government leaders but not as badly as this incident. He is unable to speak publicly without a teleprompter. This has been pointed out by several sources because it makes it difficult to get a clear shot of him speaking because they have to shoot around the teleprompter all the time. This is not just at major press releases; it is even used in small groups. Is our President really that BAD of a public speaker? Or, is someone else putting the words in his mouth and he is just a "puppet"? Let me finish by saying that I do agree with several of his goals and agendas. But, I disagree with the way he is trying to achieve them and the speed that he is trying to do it in. Our country is in serious trouble at this time - I do not deny that. But, I believe that Obama is the wrong man for the job at this time. With more experience he might have become good Presidential material in 12 - 20 years; unfortunately, he has the job now.

Many of the changes he espouses will make America more of a socialist country. Also he has staffed his cabinet with pro=abortion, same gender marriage approvals, and he is more into emphasizing with victims then true justice. So he will have a society when instead of we are all equal before the law it will be like on Animal Farm that some are more equal then others. He also wants to be in charge of everything and is rubber stamping things that many Americans do not approve of. He is also handing out money and making promises that will require Americans to be taxed heavily in the near future and also for your grandchildren. http://riverdaughter.wordpress.com/2008/07/26/what-is-wrong-with-barack-obama/ http://www.alainsnewsletter.com/read/207/economy/obamanomics-naive-or-intentionally-destructive/ http://www.ontheissues.org/Social/Barack_Obama_Abortion.htm

I am against his ideals of how government and people coexist. He, and his people around and behind him, have some scary ideals that I think are not onlydangerous but destructive to the US. Think about it, Americans are losing jobs, no matter what the experts say we are in a recession and everyone is affected by it, so let's bail out the car companies and allow them to send jobs to other countries. Just who are we bailing out....American companies who are creating job growths in other countries (like China) Just how is that keeping jobs in America? Just how is the making us stronger as a nation? http://www.thenation.com/doc/20090525/greider3 Also I am not a parent, but I have to say that it is a bunch of crap to think that you can make a child volunteer and learn from the "mandatory volunteering" that they are contributing to their community and soceity. Anyone with a brain knows that mandatory volunteering will be seen by all as "work". And a child will only learn something if they are taught correctly, not forcively. But with the tax credits families will receive by also encouraging to force their children to do so...this adds into the whole government becoming a parental figure in households. ANother problem with this is the schools who receive the funds will have to follow through with this or they will not receive the funds...which makes me wonder will the education institutions who do not participate will they have sub par educators and education....http://personalmoneystore.com/moneyblog/2009/03/20/hr1388-mandatory-volunteerism/ Also, I am not for universal healthcare. The problem with medical services that are limited is that they are limited. They say who you can see and to what extent is covered. Personally, I like the opportunity of choice. Which is why I do nto support many things that sounds like socialist ideals. This is America. ANd the sad thing is people get so excited around election time, and then they act like their football team won and then they move on....not realizing these actions have reactions that affect everyone. I say quit bailing out companies who will ultimately repeat their behavior (similar to honest banks who don't extend credit to people who have bad credit histories HMMMMM), keep the jobs here (so families can support themselves and we can feel like there is a hope of keeping America America, you know the land that we love), and stop allowing officials (government and schools) to act as if they need to teach children ethics and morals....which is a slim chance the majority of them have any. Yes he is our president. But are you looking at what the news is saying about him or reading up on the things he is involved in. Whether you are a supporter or not you need to keep an eye on things. ANd the news is not the place for reliable information...the election coverage proved that for me.
