Does Having A Price Tag Make It Seem More Real?

In my time here at Mylot I've always answered discussions/questions honestly and to the best of my abilities (and if I don't know the answer I'll say so etc). Now I admit that I go through stages on this site, I'll be here everyday for a couple of weeks then disappear again for awhile only to return, and while I'm here I hang around a lot in the money making sections (Occasionally I'll get diverted by an interesting discussion in another category but it's here I spend the vast majority of my time) Wow - get to the point huh? Anyway While I'm posting within these discussions I'll always tell people what I know/what I've learnt, how I do stuff online to earn money etc (and how to do it all for free) but here's what gets me and the point of the whole post. I, in the past, have listed whole points on how to do something - say for example set up a blog free, get traffic to it free etc etc and people seem to ignore that only to turn around and think that the offer the next person has said which costs money must be way better than what I've said for free. Now don't get me wrong I'm not complaining in the sense that I'm being ignored/not believed etc it's more that why pay if you can get the same stuff for free? So... If I turned around and said I can show you how to set up your own income earning website/blog but it'll cost you x amount of dollars would that have more weight than if I said I could show you how to set up an income earning website/blog and it won't cost you a cent? Which would you believe would get you the best results?

That seems so odd to me! I personally always try the free option first. If it doenst work out, than I can try the option I have to pay for. I think much the same as you - why pay for something you can get for free! I have noticed the same thing, though. Specifically in regards to weight loss. There is a website that I used that is completely free. I have recommended it many, many times. I find that people are often headed to other websites they have to pay for! Perhaps people think they will get more out of it because they have to pay money for it? I guess people just dont realize that time is as much of an investment as money is!

I think you're right in regards to the time/money thing. I guess some don't have the patience when it comes to spending a bit of time to do things. I suppose to it's possible it's a bit like the old if you pay for something yourself you tend to look after it better - perhaps if a person has to pay for something they'll make sure they do it (though experience shows - particularly with online money making that that isn't always the case - people do spend the money and then never get around to doing/using whatever it was they paid for)

Free is better - people are just usually lazy and sometimes just plain idiots. I don't really know how else to put it. =P Please show me how I can set up a website FOR FREE that will earn some fairly good amount of cash, and you have both ears. If I had more, I'd offer more! Ears that is.

I believe you can get the best results from the person who has the most experience. You are not telling us that we will be rich. I just want to be able to retire. I do see what you mean, though. A lot of people believe that "you get what you pay for" and they also feel like there is a magic work free formula to achieve your goals. Not so at all.

You are describing how I got into horrible credit card debt.

I think the bit about a magic work free formula is also a major point. From what I've seen while online too many people seem to think that if they just push the right button they'll get rich overnight - and when that doesn't work instead of going back and putting a bit of time into it they immediately join the next push the button program. Only to have the same thing happen. To truly earn online you need to be prepared to put in some time and effort - at least initially, once you have something set up and set up properly then you can move onto something else if you want and let the first site/blog etc do the work for you

I suppose with all the scams out htere many people are getting more and more sceptical when something is for free. Some are willing to pay and trust those option more. As for me, i will try my luck on the free option, because if it is a scam, i lose nothing. Some sites that you pay for are also scams. If you go to the butcher to buy meat but before you enter, a man comes to you and say you can havethis meat free, would you accept? Some would take the chance, but i thimk most would pass. I know you can't compare the two scinarios but I thinks that is what is boils down to, what is more trustworthy. I think the price tag will win.....

I don't think suggestion with money has more weight than suggestion without money. It is the same to me.Sometimes I just feel people who tell me what he has known without money is too kind to be true.

Well, to me, if I have the choice of getting it free, or paying a price for it, I will choose the former. I don't understand why we will have to pay when we can get it free. I will certainly want to get things free, then to pay for something. Besides, in this recession period, it is best to save the money if you can for other use.
