Internet?? recession???

Does anyone think the internet is in any danger due to the recession?? or... on the other hand, Is the internet the cause of recession?? As most of you probably know, the internet is the leading source for scammers and people losing money. Alot of the time, it is people being too lazy to read the t&c's when buying something, or signing up to something. Can you think of anything to add???
