I bought a brand new pc with Windows Vista on it and I want to connect my old hard drive in it. I connected it and when I restarted the computer I had a pop-up window saying the drivers for that hard drive have been successfully installed. The problem is when I go to My Computer I can`t see the hard drive. Where is it? How do I make it show up?

look for your disk management, you can partition there and format im in windows xp so i cant give you a step by step instruction. in xp , i will go to my control panel then administrative tools then computer management then disk management at the left window i think if you turn your control panel to classic view, you can do the same, good luck

you can enable/disable hard disk only in your BIOS, but when you say your computer detected and installed it, i dont think it is disabled

are you trying to access the older drive from FAT partition and the older disk was formatted with NTFS? If this is the case, you will not be able to access that drive. you need to format the NTFS drive with FAT but doing this will erase all the data on it. there are some free ntfs to fat converters available, there are also some tools you can download that allow you to view NTFS partition from FAT. Try those, see if those can help!
