I should really not be asking you this. But hey, are you? Despite of everything that our country is experiencing today, despite of all the negative reputation we get everyday, despite of every controversy in our government these days...are you? I STILL AM. They say we are still a 3rd world country, they say we have the most corrupt government, they say we are our own down fall but I STILL AM . Are you still proud to be Filipino? I wish YOU STILL ARE.

I still proud to be Filipino but I'm not proud of about the corruption in our government. Although our reputation is bad because of the controversies I still want to live here. No matter what they say about us I still proud to tell them that I'm a Filipino.

Of course because I am always a "first class" citizen in my own country - something that you cannot gain in another country no matter how successful you might have become. By the way, you don't need to post another topic in the same vein. A "sequel" (or "prequel" for that matter) is not allowed here, that's why you have a "thread" for a particular topic.

I am still proud of being a filipino despite of some disappointting acts from others. There are still so many things for us to be proud of our county and who could be more proud to be a Filipino if we won't be?

You can count of all the negative things about other Filipinos have done but I know myself and I know what I have done and can do so you can never let me down, I will still stand straight, look others in the eye and declare, "Yes, I am still proud to be a Filipino". The point is, who should be considered the real Filipino? The high and mighty who do nothing but leech the government's fund or the ordinary folks who diligently pay their taxes? Those who keep on demanding the government to alleviate their situation or those who are striving hard to help the government fulfill it's obligations? Those who are caught with unexplainable money in their possessions when going abroad or the hard-working individuals abroad who keep on sending money back home? I'm sure you will understand why I am and will remain a proud Filipino.

Of course we should be proud of it especially when Pacquiao win again, its a big, big and great honor to our nation. All over the world we have a giant like him that no one can defeat him. And I believe that God is always with him because he gave honor always to our God before and after his battle. Thank God we are a Filipino. This is the start of the prophecy that PHILIPPINES will be America of Asia.

Flesh and blood and spit...YEAH! I'm still proud to be a Filipino even though I've been away from the Philippines for almost 20 yrs already. Every country has its negative reputation and international drama. Filipinos shouldn't take our downfall too seriously. I admit it's at times embarrassing and it's a normal reaction but if we don't feel that way then that means we don't really care. It will pass...it always does. It's just up to us when and how to let it go. I get affected everytime there's an embarrassing news about the Philippines and that's because I care. I will never despise the Philippines though and will not take all that bad news in my head for the rest of my life. Philippines is where my family came from. It's where I learned my own alphabet, respect for the elderly, hospitality, and greediness over green mangoes and alamang. lol If there are Filipinos who are ashamed of their own ethnicity then that's their problem, their journey, and their conscience to take to their own graves. Meanwhile would we rather think about all that instead of looking at the bright side of being a Filipino? I don't know....let's go ask Pacquiao. lol

Yes, I am proud to be a Filipino. A good Filiino attitude is that we know how to get up after a storm or after we are being put down. We can even find humor in our miseries. That is one way of showing how optimistic we are as a person.

Even if you deny it will always show that you are Filipino.. ANd I am proud of being one. For as long as we are living in descent life by ourselves despite of the corrupt government and bad reputation we get because of corrupt leaders. Why ashamed?

I am still every bit and piece of my flesh a diehard Filipino. It doesn't matter whether there be crisis or not. Whethere the country remains in murky reputation or corruption, I'm still proud to be one. But I'm hoping that sooner or later our government will be rid of all these Pinoys, especially politicians who are putting our country to shame.

ofcourse iam! im living here in philippines. why not shy of this matter, let us wake up the minds of those degrading our country. lets start in ourself to show goodness to others for the sake of all the news we have read and watch. i know we are not perfect, even tho well known countries got down just because of global crisis. this is the truth and we must overcome these reputation tru doing good examples to those saying not pleasant to our country.let us be strong!
