The Multiplex Strike -- How affected are you?

I am on vacation of a month. I had thought of so many movies I would watch in the theatres. So many of good english movies were slated to release in this month. But none of them released in India. And for what? Because our Indian producers got greedy and want a 50 50 cut in the profits regardless of the performance. Multiplex owners insist on a performance based decision. This strike is going on from April 4th. The very time during which vacations begin. Sad. Multiplex do help a movie do much better at times. How a multiplex works all of us know. But does that justify the producers getting greedy for more cut into the profits which have occured due to the business sense of the multiplex owner. What do you think? Are you affected by the strike?

Frankly speaking, I don't understand the meaning of 50-50 profit or performance based profit. After all multiplex owner will get money when people would come to tha theatre, right? So, even if it 50-50, it is performance based, what is the difference.

Oh, in this way, producers will gain but the multiplex owners will loose money and in recession time, not many are going to watch movies. I think multiplex owners are right!

Ya but till now it was some differently based and the profit sharing percentage would change according to the popularity of the movie.

It is a good idea especially with SRK throwing tantrums at his teams dismal performance. Suddenly the top three celebreties have disappeared. But still I am not missing the hindi movies. They will have to release it, or they will be in big loss. But I am missing out on a lot of english movies. Good ones have been released but we have been kept away from it due to the strike.

Yes the multiplex strikes have affected the movie lovers a lot.NO good movies are released and I also have forgotten when was the last time I watched a movie. Whenever there was a freetime I and my friends used to go to the multiplex to watch a movie but now we are not able to do that. The strike problem should be solved as quickly as possible.

I agree. There were really so many movies coming up like Angels and Demons, X-Men and Up. There is 99 (Hindi movie) and quite a few more. I really want to watch all these movies.

Its much better this way. You need entertainment or drama then go and watch some real ones @ prithvi theater Mumbai. Rather than wasting 350 bucks a ticket for a Sh***y SRK movie its better to stay back with frnds. And yes we have herdly got some good moovies in the recent past. Dev D TZP Rock on thats it

There are a few good movies coming up. 99 is good. Then there are good english movies. Like Up or X - Men or Dan Brown's Angel and Demons. These are all good movies which we will never have a chance to see in the theatres. And it is sad.
