Rude people in public??

Why are poeple so rude when they are outside their own house, But when they are at home they are so respectful? I went out with a few friends and they were such a rude group I had to leave them. Then a few days later I went ot their house and they were nice as pie.. What do you think is the reason??? Please tell me why they do this...
