Could this be dangerous, of an employee, to put a family out of their room?

Being that my husband did not pay in time, the motel's employeee came by the room and she told me that since my husband did not come to pay the room that she would have to put us out of the room. It was me and my two daughters in the room. My son was out with his father during this time. It was at 10 o'clock at night, when this employee came to my room and told me this. I was asleep when she knocked on the room door. She told me to put the phone back on the hook so that she could try to call me so that she could get my husband's cell phone number. My daughter had the phone off of the hook. She told me that she would hate to put me out of the room. It was dark and I was very skeptical about walking the streets with two small children. My daughters are one and three. Even for myself, I don't just walk out on the streets at night like that. It could be very dangerous. I am assuming that the manager probably told her to come to our room at that time of night. I understand that the manager wants what we owe them, but putting me and my two daughters out of the room is not the way to get it. By putting us out, he is putting us into danger. Within a hour, my husband payed on the room. What do you think about this situation?
**I could not call my husband from our phone in our room, the phone line is not able to dial his cell phone number. And when I ask to use the phone in the front office, the manager says that we could not dial long distance on that phone. So, I knew not to ask them to use their phone so that I could call my husband. I had no minutes on my cell phone at all. I could not call him at all.

I think I'd make note of what this hotel was and tell my friends not to rent their and I'd not go back. I've never heard of such a thing. Most hotels collect their rent in the morning and if it isn't paid by noon ...the room is no longer yours. To knock on someones door at that hour demanding money is incosiderate and bad business sense.. Thankfully it all turned out well.

I am of the opinion that you have GOT to find a new place to live. I know that's easy for me to say. But, I'm worried about you friend! You have put up with alot of crap from the hotel staff and now this? Please. This is not the way to run a business that is reputable. My parents were in the hotel business for years and they never would have treated patrons this way. Especially those that had been there for weeks as you have.

Hi, carpenter5! I am begging my husband everyday to find something for us. Being that we have not found a place, we just stay here. But, I have some news to give him when I see him tonight. And, I will tell him about it. It is unfair that we have been treated like this since we have been here. I really can't wait until we move out of here! I hope that we can get this apartment that I found out about today!

Hello my friend cream97 Ji,
This is totally un-etical/un-social/un-hospitable and requires to be condem by all
society. Motel management would have alarmed you, but never asked to leave the place
I think, motel had some vested interest so that when you leave for stray street, they
might full-fil some of their vested intersest. It is very bad, I would lodge a Police
complain siting as mis-behaviour with customer.
May god bless You and have a great time.

That's not suppose to be the case, late at night? That shouldn't be it, unless that hotel is bankrupt or something, they shouldn't disturb guests at night. And they shouldn't be kicking out people in the middle of the night because they haven't paid yet. Why couldn't they just wait until the morning comes then they will have to do something. That hotel is inconsiderate, you should tell your friends that they shouldn't go to that hotel, since they have bad management.

It sounds like the hotel you stayed at is all about getting their money and getting it now. It seems like customer service has been put on the back burner with them. I work at a hotel part time. We would never do that to someone. At the hotel I work at, customer service comes first. And putting a woman and two children out on the street, in the middle of the night, that's definitely not excellent service to me.

Hello cream. I think that it is very inhuman of the manager to have his employee to warn you that you will be put out of your room at this time of night when it is not safe outside. They could urge your husband to pay for the fee, but if they really put you out of the room at this time of the night, I think that they can be accused of doing so. I wish you good luck, my friend.

I think you all need to hurry and get out of that place. What kind of business would put a woman and her two young kids out on the street? It doesn't sound like a very good place to stay, I know I wouldn't stay there if I was ever in your area. They couldn't wait for just an hour huh, till your husband came and paid? Yeah, you all need to hurry and get out of there.
