It is difficult to say. At one time, the answer would have been that women are safer. At that time, insurance companies had relatively higher rates for men than women. Rates were higher for men under 25 (which I think may have been raised to 30 or 35 along the way), but nowadays, both, men & women under whatever age it is now are charged the same rates.
EVERYONE drives differently. This is something I experienced. I have been in a car with an 18 year old girl who liked to drive in excess of 90 mph in a 55 speed limit highway. Guys do the same thing. I've also been in cars with slower drivers.
In today's day & age, it seems that the question is not really whether a men or women are better drivers. It's whther teenagers or middle-aged people are better drivers.

I don't think so...There's no difference between male and female drivers in my opinion....

I don't think one can generalise as who is better it's all matter of perception. Like in India there are more male drivers, so there are probably more male drivers who are rash drivers. I feel it is individual thing as it is how good is one's driving skills, his alertness, and so on.

nope woman are safer drivers. Or maybe its cuz we are more aware of everything that is going on around us at the same time. (multi-tasking) But that is why our insurance rates are lower automatically.

I don't think either makes a better driver. I do know that insurance companies penalize men under a certian age for supposedly proven bad driving skills. If I base it on personal experience, my finace has gotten in to more accidents and has gotten more tickets than I have. He has also not been driving aslong as I have either.

I don't know about your country, but here in Italy women have to do less stuff in order to get their driving license. I'm a woman, but I personally find it stupid. 'Cause I think it's not a matter of male or female, but your driving skills just depends on what kind of person you are, your awareness, etc....
