When I read a book, it never takes me long to get into it, to feel as if I'm part of the action. I don't know what it is about the way I read, but I love just putting myself in the shoes of someone in the book and reading it that way.
Does anyone else feel this way when they read?

Oh I feel the same way. I love to read good books and just take a mental vacation, many times once I get started I hate to put it down. I have read some books that stay with me for days once I have finished them. I really hate it when I come to the end of a good book.

This shows that, not only do you have a vivid imagination, you are selective about what you read, and only the best will do for you, otherwise this could not happen. I also find myself 'in the zone' with almost every book I read, and that is what makes reading such a pleasure. If I feel stressed or down, I take my book somewhere quiet, and soon I'm my normal cheerful self again. Beats medication any day!

Girl! You and I are kindred spirits and my daughter is right there with us. She and I will discuss characters in a book like they're real. When we read the same book, especially if it's something that is in a series!
I can close my eyes and imagine that I'm right there in the room with them. Of course, that is only if the author has done a good job of bringing out the characters personalities. Doesn't matter about looks, I can conjure up those in my head!
