Since the ancient times, people had always been seeking the so-called, "Elixir of Life," or the "Fountain of Youth." The reason behind is that; they would like to stay young and arrest ageing.
Even now, lots of ads and forum were established to discuss how to become younger looking. More and more physical theraphy and anti-aging potions were made available.
Even some of the famous personality, went through the "knife" to make them look young again...in fact, millions of dollars were poured out to this kind of undertaking...the unending search for "youth."
I have discuss this with some of my friends and we have a great time speculating" "what if i live for a thousand years...?"
what about you? would you like to live for a thousand years?

yes if its possible with Gods power and might.
but how do i look that more years while living on confusing
word of problems and inmcidents. i cant imagine i can live until
100 yrs. or more. with the high tech foods now, maybe thats the
cause that we will have diseases and cancers that cause for us
younger deaths. if the devine guidance allow it, then im so grateful
for it in my life that i can see who am i for that longer life.

With God all things are possible! actually, this life He already promised to those who recieved Him through Jesus. all you need to do is beleive.
i do agree with you - actually our life span seems to be getting shorter each year, and that's due to all this food produce now - and what more the world is not becoming better - but losing its vitality due to mankind's abuse.
we don't need longevity when we can live life to the fullest its like living your life one day at a time.

What on earth will I keep myself busy with for a thousand years. You can do all the things you want and not reach thousand years, then you will be bored for the remaining time.
We complain so much about all the hardship in life, all the bad things happening around us, and to us, why would we want to spend a thousand years to endure more of that. Eighty years is long enough, more than that is too much.
It is a very interesting discusion and I enjoyed thinking about it....
Blessings

You hit it right on the head my dear! a lifetime i might say does not consist of longevity but rather how we live life to the fullest.
i do believe as well we will live life like that beyond eternity. but only when we are prepared to face the reality - that in this lifetime that He entrusted to us, we are good stewards of it.
Blessings to you as well! may you find eternity and the fullness of life in Him.

Hi Asherem,
This is a interesting dicussion. What you are saying is very ture, espeically for the emperors in ancient time, they wanted to have their power forever, that's why they've been seeking for those youth secert.
As for me, i don't think i want to live for thousand years, that is not wired, if we all live that long, what will our socity be? If our kids also live thousand years, what will happen to our earth? Can't imagine! So i will just be nature then.

well, if we live that long our society might be living in a far away galaxy, lol! nope, i mean our society mightnot be the same we envisioned for the future. you might see your great, great, great........grandchildren and you're still in your prime.
and guess what, you will still endure your snoopy neighbor for a thousand years! hahaha! what i have in mind is just to live life to the fullest, i don't need a thousand years to live to show how i love my family and friends.

I want to be immortal! But only if everyone else is immortal as well! I don't want to live through the Apocalypse!

yea i would love to see my 10th generation, its kind of funny though but it will be a wonderful feeling especially if i ilve for a thousand years in good health, styrenth and peace, i dont mind living for such a tremendous age , i wish God will do something about this and even give the scientists more wisdom to be successful in the research

God had already done something for us - offering us a gift of eternal life through His Son Jesus. all that we need to do is recieve Him in our life.
Yet, what we're doingis - we don't want the free gift of life! we want to work for it...we want to do something for it...that's why most of us missed out on it!
me too, i'd love to see my 10th generations, whose lifetime became a blessings to people around them - because only then that i can say, i've been a good steward of the "short lifetime," given me.
how can we be entrusted with a thousand years of lifetime when we could never do good with an eighty score lifespan.

if i live for a thousand years then that would be great but there is one thing that i would definitely don't want to see in the span of 1000 years and that is to see everyone in my family die of disease, accident. i think that would be the most shameful site to see.
but i also think that living for a thousand years would be so tiring. don't you think so?

I would only desire to live a thousand years if all my dreams right now could come true. If I will be able to achieve my dream to be a film maker and a published writer then I can marry the one I love and have children, then I am willing to live forever. But if all these things never come to my life then what's forever for?(according to a song)LOL!hehehe

i dont wanna live for thousand of years even hundreds of years, life is not that so exciting anymore, you are becoming very old and ugly by then.and if given the chance to still look young at that age, but my age is still old, still there will be no excitements.

I'm not sure if I'd like to live for a thousand years or not. I just think it's a sad reflection of some of society's mentality that, they are always chasing anything that is meant to make them look younger; as if looking young was the most important thing ever. I think that's at least one reason why this society is so dumbed down, valuing looks so much more than intelligence; which is why some of the drivel labeled "news" is considered that way.

I would not like to live for a thousand years. Definitely not. You see too many bad things in a short life, why make it longer? People die so that there is room for new people being born. The earth is already overpopulated anyway. Just my .02
