lol.. milk is not a vegetable, it belongs to another food group. it is considered a dairy product. vegetables refers to those that came from plants.

oh i am sorry i did not understand your post thoroughly so you were meaning to say that why would vegetarians take on milk but not eggs but both came from animals? well there is a distinction between both as well, plus the fact that there is such thing as we call vegetarians and vegan diets, there are people who do not eat meat, meaning to say meat that are chicken, pork or beef while vegan diets do not eat meat and also by products of animals like eggs. milk i guess they still consume because it does not contain things that are present in meat..well you can look it up in the internet if you would like.. i just read the distinction now over the web if you want to be thoroughly explained:)) hope i was able to help

Dear, I also thinking this question from many time that Milk is Veg or NonVeg. I asked many people but thny say that milk is veg thing. But as per my knowledge and thinking the MILK is NonVeg, because milk is coming from Cows body and we are taken deliberately as per our requirements. Cows, buffalows dont like to give milk to us they want to feed thier pets but we only want to take out milk from her bodies. We always give cows ets medicines and injections to get more and more milk. So as per my life experiance the MILK is NonVeg. But same way Egg is totally NonVeg because Egg contains pets of birds. If we not crush the egg then some time after the small pets will comes from that egg, so egg is nonveg thing. Happy Mylotting.

That's the distinction between vegetarian and vegan diets. A vegetarian won't eat meat from an animal. A vegan won't consume ANY animal by-products, including milk or eggs. Even though they come from animals, the distinction seems to be that the animal is slaughtered to make beef, pork, etc., but milk and eggs are taken from the animal with, well, comparatively less discomfort, I guess.
