I am looking for a home business I can do to make extra money, in my spare time around caring for my nieces and going to school. This one looks like a good one, because it involves children and toys, and those are things I like! But I'm nervous about putting down the starter fee. Has anyone actually bought into this home business? Has it worked for you? Can you share some details with me about how it works? Thanks!

I would be hestitant to pick something like Discovery Toys. You would always have to find new customers. Once your customers have bought the toys, there isnt much more they can do! I would go for something like Mary Kay or Tastefully Simple. These are things that you can build a customer base for. You can have clients that regularly order things from you. Just remember that all of those types of businesses require a lot of time. To get started, it is helpful if you know A LOT of people. You also wont make much money at first, because you are buying all of the supplies and you wont have a lot of customers. If you are looking to build something for the future, a direct selling opportunity can be a great investment. You just have to be willing to wait! Good luck!

Those businesses require a lot of time and effort to ever really make any money. I have a friend who does Discovery Toys, and you would believe her to be the most successful. She is an ex-teacher, mommy of two little ones and has a real motivation to make money and be home with her kids. It is just very, very hard to get to the point where you really make money.... there is always something else to buy to make your presentations go well, etc. You will end up with some great toys, and if that is more important than actually making money, I'd say go for it.
