I always loved to write stories, poems, letters, just about anything. When I was 13 or 14 my friend and I wrote a long 15 chapter novel. It was a really good book. We managed to loose it somehow. I wish I still had it. I am currently in school and don't have much time for writing now (unless it is school work) but I would love to start again. Do anyone have any ideas on what I should write about? Or how I could actually get it published after I am done. I live in a small town and there isn't even a book store here. can I get a book published online? or send it somewhere?

Ideas are everywhere, you just have to keep your eyes and ears open. An author was quoted as saying that a writer is a person who stands back and watches. You can get ideas from listening to people talking in coffee shops or in line at the grocery store. You can get ideas from news stories and talk shows. You can get ideas from something you experienced, or something you are afraid might happen, or even something you would like to happen (a kind of "what if...") My friends and I wrote a book when we were teenagers. I still have the book and all the other stories my best friend and I continued to write. I pulled them out recently and would love to read them but don't really have the time. I hope to get published. I have been working on finishing my novel, but is it ever finished? LOL! If you have the tenacity you can get it published but it does mean submitting over and over again to different agents and publishers. It's more work than I thought it would. You can always self-publish, or publish-on-demand if you have the money. Lulu.com is a popular publishing house and they will publish both ezine and hard copy versions of your story. Good luck!

my best advice is to write about what you know or what your passion is. for me, it would be history, something of a non fiction genre, maybe a book making history fun for young kids. look into publishing it online and see waht comes up.

Ideas should come from yourself. However here are some ideas that might light some bulbs: -fantasy: A war between dragons and wizards -mystery: A police hunting down a powerful mafia -sci-fi: Try thinking of some kooky alien stories And the list continues. To get more ideas visit my blog. I will send the link as a private message once you have accepted my friend request. Happy mylotting!
