Short and simple, the question is have you ever stopped going to a store because of the disrespect you received from an employee there? I have done this once at a supermarket, the cashier that was nasty to me twice before, well the third time, I just had enough, she tried uttering under her breath a nasty word, which was completely uncalled for, I also had my kids with me, and if I heard her I know my kids did. All this cause I didn't want to buy the amount of items for the sale price. I stopped going there. Have any one of you done that, stopped going to a store because of lack of good service?

WEll, the shops I usually go to know better than to disrespect customers. There was this one shopkeeper who made me mad. I was at his shop buying some peanuts, he had a lighter there. He also sells ciggerates by the way. I lit it up, not lighting a coggerate that is, just fot fun once. He cam down on me screaming and i was kind dof hurt ofcourse. I haven;t gone ther esince then

Oh I've stopped shopping in quite a few places where I received poor customer service and if it was the only store of its kind I make sure I complain verbally or in writing to get it resolved. When I was younger I would just put up with bad service but nowadays I don't tolerate it at all. I am ALWAYS polite to staff in shops and expect them to at least return the favour. I don't need to hear BS excused from people saying they might be having a bad day. They shouldn't be working in customer oriented roles if they can't treat customers at least decently. I don't expect to be paid for not doing my job properly so if you're in a customer service role you should not expect to treat customers like dirt and not have any come back when complaints are made. I remember going to a really expensive Chinese restaurant a couple of years back and the service was just the worst I'd experienced anywhere and they very cheekily put 10% service charge on the bill and then when taking credit card payment asked if we'd like to add a tip on top of that as they only charged 10% service when other places charged 12 or 15%, I laughed and asked if they were joking. Needless to say, they got no extra tip, I haven't been back there and I wrote a very honest and derogatory review abou them online to share my experience!

That's funny you say that, a few months ago our kitten broke a leg so we had to take her to the vet. We didn't have her long, so we didn't even have a vet yet, anyway, we went to the one down the street and we asked them if they could do anything and if we could do payment plans or anything. 1. The lady said that she couldn't even tell us how much it would be cause they need to do all the procedures first (thought that was a load of you know what) 2. She then had the nerve to tell us with a big smile on her face like she was doing us a favor that they could put her to sleep if we wanted. We were so mad I wrote a review online about the place. That to me was just terrible! We did find a place though that was great, and they helped us every way they could.

Well ,
I did this at a couple of shops . I did not like the way those
shop-keepers talked and also I did not like their service.
I opted for other shopkeepers .
Lack of service might have been tolerable to some extent .
Yet ,the more pinching aspect was the way they talked ;
in a disrespectful manner .
Regards

That was uncalled for. I am that person that asks to see the manager or call the 1800 number to report lousy service or wonderful service. 9 times of out 10 they feel stupid for confronting them. In a situation like that I would've asked if she had a problem with her job, or if I was bothering her by actually making her work and after that asked for the front end manager. Especially if it was said in front of my child.

Yea I should have done that, but I didn't. I just left and swore to myself that I never would go there again. I complained to my husband instead, he still went there for the fact the store was so close to home, he was friends with the manager. Shortly after I came to find out that she got fired. Seems that her attitude was just nasty towards everyone.

There is a convienance store down the street that if a specific employee is working I will not go there but instead will drive 5 miles to the nearst store aside from that one. This employee has harrased so many customers that now during his shift he can stand outside and smoke without being bothered by customers.
He is extreamly slow checking customers out and harrases the customers by telling them he will keep their change or that everything will be $20. I have asked the manager why she has not gotten rid of him despite all the complaints and she told me that he always shows up for work and his cash drawer is always exact. I told her that this was great but asked if she had noticed that her business has dropped of since he started, and she doesn't care about that.
So despite the fact that there is a horrible customer service problem at this store it is not going anywhere and so the people in my neighborhood just do not go there when he is working.

Wow, I think the manager needs to touch up on her customer service skills also. Your neighborhood should just boycott that entire store until someone gets the point.

It has happened to me twice and is definitely not a good experience. I was new in town and my english was not that great so instead of spending an hour looking around the store for weatherstrips I decided I would ask one of the employees there. Well, it didn't turn out quite what I had expected. First off she told me she could no understand what I was saying and second after I repeated it 3 times what I was looking for she just rushed in front of me and stopped at an aisle that I hadn't checked out yet and asked me "What does this say here?." So I just thanked her for her "kindness" and walked out, didn't bother to even look at the product. The second one was at a high fashion store. My friend was looking for a dress for her sisters wedding and she was willing to pay no matter how much just to get the perfect dress. when she found it and asked to try it on she was bombed by a very very impolite and rude question "Honey, did you check the price tag yet?". I mean we might not have been dressed as high class people, because we are not, but that does not mean that we can not have something more expensive in our closet. My friend being her usual self did not respond but rather asked for the manager and we walked out of there with a 15% discount on the dress.

Yes. I have also done this before. It's about 4 years ago, a waitress in a little restaurant ignored my order and kept me waiting for about half a hour. During that time, several people went after me have got their meals. So I went to asking her where's the things I've ordered. But she didn't give me an answer as she was busy talking with a handsome boy. I went back to my apartment and decided never go to that restaurant again. That's the story. He he!

Yes me and my family have stopped goin to a certain branch of ASDA because we went in their before xmas and bought a printer cartridge when we tried to return it as we had bought the wrong one they said that it didnt match what was on the recipt. Me and my mum stood in the shop for about half a hour got the manager to come down,we were accused of tryin to get more money back and bringing somethin in which we bought somewhere else. After 30 mins the manager saw another bar code on the package and scanned it which came up with the price we were charged we were given the money back but the staff didn't apologise. When me and my mum were leaving we said really loudly that we wont be coming back i turned round and the staff were all bright red.

I usually found such customer service on a small store. But if in larger stores, i can give my input by their suggestion box if i find such employee of them. I think a suggestion box is a best feedback solution for a business. I think you can suggest their manager if they don't have any suggestion box yet. It should be useful for improve their service. Instead getting reported, their employees will behave with carefully while serving customer. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

Hii imajerseygirl!
I think just like you many people have faced a similar situation of misbehaviour from the Shop employees.
When a customer is humiliated, its not acceptable.
Its natural for us in this case to never come back to that store again.
My dad had a similar experience i remember. There was this shop which was making good money because they got all varieties. But soon the owner started misbehaving and charging high prices. My dad stopped going there.
Even i have encountered such behaviour but in a an apparel shop. The sales girl was very reluctant to show the merchandise! With every garment she unfolded her face wore a frown ! It was like i am adding to her work!
Such kind of sales people are really disgusting!
Who would ever want to go to such a shop?
For some time i didn't go there. But then my friend visited me from another city and she wanted to buy capris like mine which were from the same shop.
She insisted we go there.I took her there and she liked the stuff.
That girl seemed to have improved by a percent!!!
There are people who don't like their job, thats when they show disinterest in the customer and in their work hence.
Its really important that the employer watches how they perform otherwise they can turn down many regular as well as prospective customers!

it is a general problem whichis common everywhere, custormer service are generally getting poorer and it cut across all sectors including stores, mobile telecom companies, and even atthe internet cafe. In some cases i have witnessed custormer service operators of my mobile phone service cutting off my calls, that is too insulting and they do think they are the only one in the market

well, after one time an employee is rude, the next time I go there I hope I don't get him/her again. And if I do, then I will talk to the manager and try to help this problem, because just leaving a store because of one person, that is just wrong.
